VeeDub Transporters?

So who's the wiz with these vans then?

Is there a spares list available for download somewhere like wot we can get for ducati's?
How d'you tune the **** outa them to make them a bit more nippy?
Are they good reliable workhorses that'll play nicely 'til the sun burns away?
Any decent websites with bags of info like wot we got going on here?
Does anyone care?!!

Cheers dude, good site.
Mine's a 1.9td so can't be 'chipped' apparently... it is, of course, a white one!

domski 31-Jul-2006 20:48

How about an orange roof?

bradders 31-Jul-2006 22:00

yep - we use them and they last for ages!!

Zimbo16 31-Jul-2006 22:07

Is it a T4 or a T5? If it's a T5 1.9 they can be chipped, I know mine is! I'd be surprised if a T4 couldn't be, try looking here:

NBs996 31-Jul-2006 22:32

It's a T4.
Allegedly... the TDi can be chipped, the TD can't. I got a TD and it ain't too quick! Reading the forum posted by dcr, I'd need to wind up the turbo and add an intercooler which'd cost upwards of £600.

Nothing to stop me pimping it up tho!

nathanhu 31-Jul-2006 22:52

I've Got a T4, but mines a 2,5ltr petrol... gulp
but there are loads of parts on ebay for them
ive fitted mine out with satnav, elec windows, cruse control, blacked out windows, central locking..... the list is endless
ive done over 70,000 km im mine and ive only had it since 2004, so far no real dramas only one drive shaft went a week after i bought it...

nathanhu 31-Jul-2006 23:09

lowering should be easy as the only springs to replace are fitted to the rear, the fronts are torsion bars and just need re-setting, i never did mine as i fitted it out as a camper and i needed the ride hight

nathanhu 01-Aug-2006 08:44

if your after windows ....funnly enough ive got some in the celler!!!
2x rear side windows (double glassed) and one side window

Bonio, the espace is fine. Just decided I don't want a wife, kids and labrador after all! Just gotta straighten the bonnet hinge and it'll be going on ebay.#
Can't get 2 bikes in an espace anyway, and let's get real... you can't muster up any decent road rage in an espace!

I got one

Been tuned for at least 30hp. Got plans for lowering and big alloys :D

Posibally not what everyone else is talking about, but proves they last forever... if you are a good welder...

Funnily enough I saw a split screen on a trailer going north up the M! last friday-it was a hightop-never seen a split hightop before, and it was immaculate, probably going to a show. I have had 6 beetles but never a camper or van-fitted a Porsche Super 90 engine in one of my beetles, tuned 1600 in another, 4 barrel Holley carb, lowered, 6in rims on front 8.5in on the rear, Koni adjustable shocks the lot-fast old thing that was-for it's day.

I used to own a 1959 Splitscreen bus which had been fitted with a samba roof for some reason. It was imported from Sweden when they changed to RHD.I bought it needing a full restoration and never got round to it,sold it too some guy near Peterfield.Reg no 406 DNY if anyone knows what's happened to it.

EMPI 04-Aug-2006 00:11

Used to have a 64 panel van - replaced the bottom 6" all round, have had 4 beetles another bay and the one I have the now. Sort of an addiction...
