749R slipper clutch pressure plate measurement required ? can anyone who has a put billet pressure plate on a 749R let me know what the dimension the diameter of the internal bit without the teeth is please on the billet replacement or on your original one so I can get the teeth machine out of my JHP plate please ? thanks as my bike is not here to measure the original one does this make any sense ? |
Graham I machined mine out so you could just still see the teeth on the outside (1.5mm /2.0mm of the teeth left)and just touched on the internal face with a nice new tipped boring bar. Worked mint Andy |
Anyway where is your bike ?not more bits getting added ? |
it's a secret ! having the new 2007 1200cc v-twin engine fitted !!! no only kidding, it's in my mates workshop as I left it there when we went for a beer on Sunday, pick it up again when I get a minute this week |
If you put a proper clutch in it...it would come allready machined............. |
AndyB - you n your 'proper clutches' LOL like my modded one at the mo seems to work well with my new Corsa IIIs |

Sides of that rear tyre should last you a while though.......... |
You mission today is to get a hard anodised 38 tooth rear Renthal sprocket and gold ERV chain... |
eh? ![]() |
;) Dont you just love round and round a roundabout............;) and.....still not polished that exhaust.............call yourself bling? |
me no bling man meester Andy ! polish.....yuk ! LOL but a Renthal does sound good B&C still best for these ? |

What are those lines around the tyre? Have you been using emery cloth on the edges.? |
Bit of a misrepresentation with the number plate . Should be fitted to a 999 not a 749. WSS would have been the one!!!!! |
SBK Quote:
erm....it does say SBK on the tank and its in Ducatis SBK section aint it ?! toys out of pram .!....................it is a Superbike ! yes it is !! |
BY THE WAY.......for anyone reading this, I do still need the measurement at the beginning of this rambling post LOL |
Steady tiger!!! |

DPP slipper plate is 115mm internal diameter i'd think the 749R would need to be the same as the basket will be same tooth outside diameter. |
Gizmo thanks, it is 115mm dia inside of teeth, but I need to know what the diam is on the 749R one without the teeth so I can machine them off cheers |
Buy a proper bloody cover.....or better still a proper clutch!!!! oh yeah were back to that again. |
DP don't do a pressure plate for the 749R so this is the only option "AndyB - you n your 'proper clutches' LOL like my modded one at the mo seems to work well with my new Corsa IIIs" what was it you were saying about roundabouts ? |
Quote:
the 749R should be the same, the teeth are on the basket and the basket is the same between bikes cos the clutch plates fit between bikes. So, if the DPP slipper has clearance from the basket teeth the same machined out diameter will work on any slipper pressure plate as it has to clear the same teeth, if you get my drift.... if that ain't enough try measuring across the teeth on your final steel plate, and leave a little clearance, if its close to 115 I'd probably go with that :D |
If you bought a proper clutch........you could measure that...........:D |

AAAAAAAARRRRGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH !!!!!! |
Graham, if you want you can pop round here this eve if its any help and we'll whip me clutch apart for you to measure. |

I thought Graham was going to get a proper clutch sorted ... |
Aaaarrrrggghhhhhhhh Flubber......hhhhmfffffffffff Dribble |
Clutch Pressure Plate Cunundrum not a "proper clutch" pressure plate ie the original 749R one ![]() the JHP one to replace it Slightly more proper like ![]() |
ROFLMFAO "Are we there yet?" |
Quote:
thanks Dougal, but yours is a proper one may just go get the bike back now instead, make it a bit easier to measure it |
Quote:
that's the dimension i measured :) |
![]() bit confused now |
yeah so the teeth are approx 5mm each side giving 115mm diameter |
