749R slipper clutch pressure plate measurement required ?

can anyone who has a put billet pressure plate on a 749R let me know what the dimension the diameter of the internal bit without the teeth is please on the billet replacement or on your original one
so I can get the teeth machine out of my JHP plate please ?
thanks
as my bike is not here to measure the original one

does this make any sense ?

andyriches 01-Aug-2006 20:38

Graham
I machined mine out so you could just still see the teeth on the outside (1.5mm /2.0mm of the teeth left)and just touched on the internal face with a nice new tipped boring bar. Worked mint

andyriches 01-Aug-2006 20:40

Anyway where is your bike ?not more bits getting added ?

Sharpy G 01-Aug-2006 23:04

no only kidding, it's in my mates workshop as I left it there when we went for a beer on Sunday, pick it up again when I get a minute this week

andyb 01-Aug-2006 23:22

If you put a proper clutch in it...it would come allready machined.............

Bit of a misrepresentation with the number plate . Should be fitted to a 999 not a 749. WSS would have been the one!!!!!

Sharpy G 02-Aug-2006 12:16

SBK

DPP slipper plate is 115mm internal diameter i'd think the 749R would need to be the same as the basket will be same tooth outside diameter.

Sharpy G 02-Aug-2006 14:02

Gizmo
thanks, it is 115mm dia inside of teeth, but I need to know what the diam is on the 749R one without the teeth so I can machine them off
cheers

andyb 02-Aug-2006 14:05

Buy a proper bloody cover.....or better still a proper clutch!!!!

oh yeah were back to that again.

Sharpy G 02-Aug-2006 14:16

DP don't do a pressure plate for the 749R
so this is the only option

"AndyB - you n your 'proper clutches' LOL

what was it you were saying about roundabouts ?

the 749R should be the same, the teeth are on the basket and the basket is the same between bikes cos the clutch plates fit between bikes. So, if the DPP slipper has clearance from the basket teeth the same machined out diameter will work on any slipper pressure plate as it has to clear the same teeth, if you get my drift....

if that ain't enough try measuring across the teeth on your final steel plate, and leave a little clearance, if its close to 115 I'd probably go with that :D

andyb 02-Aug-2006 14:33

If you bought a proper clutch........you could measure that...........:D

Sharpy G 02-Aug-2006 14:47

Clutch Pressure Plate Cunundrum

not a "proper clutch" pressure plate
ie the original 749R one

the JHP one to replace it
Slightly more proper like

Loz 02-Aug-2006 14:49

ROFLMFAO

"Are we there yet?"

Gizmo 02-Aug-2006 15:03
