David Harris Memorial ‘Riders for Health’ Charity Track Evening - Brands Indy 13 Sept For the second year running Kevin Healy (Focused Events) and Jonathan Palmer (MotorSport Vision) have kindly offered management and track for another evening event. To book, please phone Focused Events on 08702 646268. Details attached. Its £59, all of which goes to R4H, plus, if you want to, there’s a sponsorship form so you can mug other people for dosh too! Sponsor form attached. Whether you want a cheap full on track evening or perhaps you’ve never ridden a track in your life and feel like only doing one lap to say that you’ve done it, £59 smackers aint bad. Last year you raised £7.5k. It would be great to exceed this and if we can keep the momentum up, who knows? The nice men at Focused and MSV might just do it again next year. It’s for a good cause. Your £7.5k bought a health worker, motorcycle and much more last year. And, many of you knew Dave. I think it’s a good way of remembering him and focusing on the fact that we’re not immortal and to have a bloody good time whilst we get the chance. There’s a little stash of raffle prizes growing by the minute, and this thread will be updated as and when new bits and bobs appear (donations gratefully received;-). I’ll be attacking people for raffle money on the night. So far we have: -A Nicky Hayden autographed cap (future world champ?) – donated by Riders for Health -Some Ducati books – donated by Riders for Health -‘Mission Accomplished’ Airwaves t-shirt autographed by Lavilla – donated by Darrell Healey -Airwaves rider profiles (Haslam and Lavilla) autographed – donated by Darrell Healey -Ducati Corse 'Pandoras Box' (a box of workshop goodies-wipes/disposable gloves/polishing cloths etc) - donated by Nat - £100 voucher towards paintwork at Essex County Choppers in Upminster, Essex - donated by Chris/Ant E - Ducati 1/1000 limited edition book - donated by Chris B - R&G racing knee sliders – CSS - Alpinestar ‘racing ahead’ socks (L/XL) – CSS - Sportsmax Qualifier black, collar/button shirt – (M) – CSS - 2 pair heather gray Alpinestar sport boxers (M) – CSS - CSS black neck warmer – CSS - Alpinestar black t-shirt (M) – CSS - Alpinestar navy t-shirt (ladies S) – CSS - CSS ‘Cornering. I will try to book it, although that day falls into my annual holiday from work and I need to book a holiday that doesn't fall on to that day. I know what I mean! Got the letter and forms the other day. Hopefully not as wet as last year.:) |
It was a bloody good night. Even if it was bloody wet! I've never seen so many sodden, drenched through to the skin smiling faces! Nuts, the lot of ya! |
Quote:
Nuts, us, never, it's just our friends that are nuts .... Holiday booked, I'll call Focussed Tomorrow :) & :( in equal measures ... Dibs x |
Excellent. Last years event was the perfect tribute... I'll be there again. Q. Are FE advertising it to all their regulars or is it a dsc only thing? Just curious like! |
Quote:
DSC .. and friends of Dave via other routes, this is not a comercial FE evening so your usuaul nutter track evening attendees will not be coming and FE are not adverstising it, mailshotting last years attendees though .... |
Quote:
too darned wet!:o and that gravel took a whole evening to hoover out of the airbox & butterflys etc:borg: booking said afternoon off tomorrow Annette - will help you frisk for raffle moneys if you like:) not sure if sir will be riding - needs to check his holiday entitlement in the morning but we think he has run out:( |
It's up on the www.DDRACER.com website as well now Annette ;) |
Wet or dry won't matter. Couldn't do last year but will be glad to be there this year. Dave |
Sorry Annette sweetie, can't make it as I'll be bikeless :( |

ooh! I say! Sailor! U2U! |
Would have done it this year but I'll be in France. I hope it's an even bigger success than last year! |
Unable to make it last year, but definitely this one. |
Dom - Just phoned Focus and they say 16:15 sign on for a 17:00 start. |
I will come along for the social side and buy a few raffle tickets, I can't do the track day as I haven't got anything to ride |
Have paid and will be there to chase webby round on his smokey, oily, hooligan machine...Richard |
Quote:
Now paid. Richard hopefully the RGV will be up and ready for it. If not then it will be the SPS.:D |

More fodder for the DD bikes, and thats just the 583's :D Not that i condone any form of competition on a track day of course, especially in these days of heightened political correctness where we no longer have school "Sports days" with winners and losers, just winners and second winners etc  |
Good luck with the event Annette, I'll still be in Poland so won't be able to make it. So, if anyone who knows me wants sponsoring give me a shout - first come first served Cheers Martin |
It's very unlikely that I'm going to be able to make this Annette - there's a 49.5% chance I will be in Milan, a 49.5% chance I'll be in the States, and a 1% chance I'll be here. Whether I'm here or not, please put me down for sponsorship - same amount as last year ;) |
Thanks Martin! Chi - presume you weren't in the UK over the w/e otherwise we would have seen you. I'll keep my fingers crossed for the 1%. You'd be missed! |
Hi Annette, was in London but was a prisoner to two childrens' birthday parties (what they don't tell you about the joys of parenthood), the Blackwall tunnel (Pietro will tell you), and the road closures for the London Triathlon. |
Me and Lee would love to do it again, and probably Matt who came with us last time. This time though, I will gather sponsorship. I think it's a brilliant idea and a fitting tribute. Jen. (I presume I just wait for the mailshot?) |
I'll be there, to watch and spend some money and buy a hot chocie. I'll bring the cream! |
Hi Jen! The mailshot should have got to you. I'm sorry. I think there may have been some hiccups. The letter and the sponsor form are on the first post of this threadfor downloading. Dom kindly attached them for me. I look forward to seeing you again. Thank you. |
Mark! Sod the hot chocolate. The cream ;-)? What about the Sancerre! |
Quote:
I hope not at the Thistle prices :lol::eek: If your not driving, a bottle on me chilled at the track :D Best get a lift eh! |
Flanks - I'm sure we'll end up having the usual post party party at The Lion to listen to the 'I went faster than you'; 'did you see the wheelie I pulled'; 'who was that prat?' usual old stuff. Cheap plonk. Actually a decent range of wines available over the bar. And good grub. |
Just! Excellent! I can make this by just one day, so see you there. |
Quote:
As usual, you have a great idea planned. |
booking now Quote:
Very glad to see this is back again Annette. Well done! About to phone to book my place. Martin, I'll take you up on that sponsorship offer. Fixed sum regardless of number of laps completed, but let's give me more incentive than that - if it's raining I'll do all the sessions this time (only did one last year because I had no confidence in my tyres), and then you pay double, ok? PS pleased to see you back in the club  PPS I'll be expecting sponsorship from any BHCN not attending in person. |
Ruth - Thank you darlin'! The track was a river last year. You were braver than some, who never even made it out there for ONE lap! (me.......). |
Quote:
Ruth - you're on. Can't do enough for a good cause. And ok, double if it's wet....! Martin |

I'm feeling a little overwhelmed by your support. You lot really are very special. Thank you. |
Quote:
don't be ..... we support you because we choose too, not because we have to .... and as you didn't manage a lap last year, then you should take my bike out for a lap or 3 .. :) |
