Donington today

Well, that was all over and done with pretty quick :D

Had a fantastic time as per usual, despite the wet qualifying. Hope everybody that's fallen off over the weekend (11 fallers in practice and several more at the trackday!) aren't too sore and hope Fil2's stopped moaning about his poorly fingers and neck :p

Well done to the top boys and thanks for passing us backmarkers nice and safe in the past couple of laps.

The 12 laps flew by and the only issue I had with my bike, at least, was the brakes going a bit squishy towards the end of it. Had a bit of a rubbish placing being as it's one of my favourite tracks, but a great three way battle made it well worth the trip :)

Roll on the next one and bring the sunshine!

Who won what Grib...??

Grib 13-Aug-2006 18:39

Let me refer to my soggy results sheet...;)

Class A;
Glenn Graham
Dominic Cann
Kyle Hinton

Class B;
Chris Wood
Phil Huntley
Andrew Griffiths

:)

Tonio600 13-Aug-2006 18:54

Lucie would you mind taking a pix of the results sheet? I'd like to update the standing (and find out how many places I've lost again :( )

Tonio600 13-Aug-2006 18:55

f****** hell, my ex-bike has won??????????? :)

BIG WELL DONE GLENN! I'ts a pity you haven't done the full season...

I thought wet qualifying was ace and frankly the highlight of my weekend.

Tonio600 13-Aug-2006 21:00

well done mate, that result for me would have been the highlight of my racer career :)

CK 13-Aug-2006 21:10

good day out - did try & phone you on the way home Tonio, but your mobile kept going to answer service!

call me for results which are here beside me, as scanner bust:(

Loz 13-Aug-2006 21:13

And when CK says "bust" you know she knows what she's talking about!

you going to be at Cadwell Loz?

<C rubs hands in hope, and goes off to look for baseball bat>

Tonio600 13-Aug-2006 21:23

So you went up there Charlotte? Any chance you could take a pix of the sheet with a dig cam? As I need all results it would make things easier... re. my phone, it just doesn't work really well in the lost countryside where I live :)

Chris Wood 13-Aug-2006 21:41

Tonio - u2u

Tonio600 13-Aug-2006 21:44

Excellent, thanks Chris (btw if you're at Cadwell next weekend I'll give you my CC details for the DVD).

Chris Wood 13-Aug-2006 21:45

No probs...looking good orders flying in...lol!

Speak for yourself . . . .
Never mind, I should be recovered by DSC Cadwell!

CK 14-Aug-2006 08:03

Fantastic battles all down the field made this a great one to watch!

Domski & Glenn - fantastic passing at Redgate (possibly elsewhere, but I was at redgate)
Chris Wood & Fil2
Grib, Bones & David Pratt changing places each time they passed Redgate

and all down the field were some great humdingers going on, tho one or 2 experiencing a solo race with nobody close to them.

Rider of the day from where I was standing, was Paul Payne - started last (38) on the grid due to a fall early on in qualifying, then winding his way up the field to 19th overall & 6th in class.

Looking forwards to the next round (just wish it wasnt where it is tho) and to having both our bikes back out on the grid:)

dickieducati 14-Aug-2006 08:23

thought it was a good meeting, shame to see so many down in qualifying but all seemed up and about ok afterwards. some great rides throughout the field and really liked the longer race. ideal senario for me would be a short race and a long race but over the season i think we get a nice spread to be honest. just need to know pre season what we are getting and then for it to stay that way.

weather did us proud. bit wet for qualifying but a completely dry race and then it chucked down about 15 mins after the finish. perfect!

this series does produce some bloody good racing and there are lots of good battles out there no matter where you are in the field.

only one meeting left for me this year, already thinking about some winter practice and looking forward to next year!
