Congrats to Dom and Phil.......

.....the boys both sealed the respective 620 and 583 championships at Snetterton today.

Fully committed riding from both of them today saw them win the championships with a round to spare.

Many congrats

skidlids 04-Sep-2006 02:25

yep congratulations to both.
Phil continued with his form from last year where he was top 675 and only had a couple of the 620 guys ahead of him, to become a champion in his own right this year
And as for Dom, the confidence and self belief that he gained from the final meeting of last year was carried over to this year to take him through to the title.

antonye 04-Sep-2006 07:51

Yes, congrats to both Dom and Phil - you've both ridden so well this year that you've both been (almost!) unbeatable. Well done, and please don't come back next year ;)

Chaz 04-Sep-2006 08:00

Cadwell, Brands, Castle Combe and Oulton I was, and at two of those rounds I actually got to watch class A and in the others I usually had quite a good view of Phils riding.
Where as last year I saw more of Dom and less of Phil

Griff 64 04-Sep-2006 11:49

Congratulations to you both.
Viewed from a class B perspective i would like to paricularly praise Phil for his speed and consistency this year.No crashes or offs and alot of wins from the front. Not always perhaps noticed by the average spectator when we are buried in a mixed grid. And winning like that is not as easy as it looks as i am finding out!
Top chaps you both to

Thanks Griff....................

phil_h 04-Sep-2006 12:40

I think you are both awesome.
Smooth consistant laptimes that I can only dream about.

Thanks phil for letting me be in front of you for a while for probably the only time ever ! (Keep practicing those fluff starts - I like them) ;)

Thanks dom for letting me be in a class where I came 3rd to your 2nd. Its just a shame there actually was an SV out there

Actually grouchy, while I'm on a roll, well done for getting stuck in and eventually managing to get past an old git like me :frog:

Griff 64 04-Sep-2006 13:40

Well done to Couch for completing a meeting on his 3rd different DD of the year and without selling it,swapping it, or buying another bike...respect.

Redruth 04-Sep-2006 15:12

Dom and Phil

Fantastic racing from both of you. You both made supreme efforts to become champions in this series and deserve to win. Two very determined and single minded racers. I hope there's a nice big prize giving at Cadwell with press coverage and everything. There's been plenty of interest in the series and it'll be great to see Dom's smiling pixie face when he accepts his award, and Phil's cool, confident one too.

Redruth 04-Sep-2006 21:11

Thinking about how some restoration of good faith can be made for the DD series, hopefully with the blessing of the RC, how about getting the commentator at Cadwell to report the clean bill of health on Dom's bike after the 'ACU compliant' challenge and announce the time of the end of season prize giving during the day's racing, because that does seem to be a bit of a shambles. We never seem to know when and where it's going to be and usually have to go and find out somehow if we don't want to miss it. I also think it would be good if everyone from the series attended the prize giving. I know last year not everyone went along. I think this year a good strong rider presence along with all the DD fans who have spent time and money attending would be an upbeat end to the series. Maybe Geoff Spencer could come and award the prizes, as it's on his doorstep. Or the guy from the magazine who was at the DSC Trackdays last month. He was considering joining the series next year, I believe. The guy at Snetterton mentioned the guy who won his series on his 50th birthday several times, so they're obviously happy to have stuff to read out. They just need to be given the script. I'll volunteer to go and find the guy and give him something to read out - something impartial, non-inflammatory and congratulory, which is entirely as it should be.

nelly 05-Sep-2006 18:23

A bit late but crongratulations to you both. I got the news from Phil, but heard nothing about the 620 class being tied up.
Well done to the both of you.

Have a JD on me :)

well done

Congratulations to Phil and Dom on winning their respective championships.

Its been great to see Phil going from strength to strength, from fast smooth road rider to winning club racer.

Has been equally great to watch Dom struggle with his demons and triumph over them forcing his rivals to raise their games dramaticaly.

Two worthy champions of which the DSC should be proud.

I'd really like to look forward to seeing them do battle next year. A whole season repeat of the SOT(?) race at Oulton. It should be a belting season next year.

If this dosent happen, then it will be DDs and the clubs loss.

Respect to the two of you for making the difficult look easy, surely the sign of a champion
