Bet you he surprises a few people on an old BMW K1100

nice protective clothing:o

Even if they're highly skilled professionnal riders, I never understood that they were not given more protective clothes for the summer. They were all required to dress like this, but I think things are changing...

Is he just about to **** the armco? He doesn't have a lot of margin for error at that lean!

Yeah but he's French. Mad as a box of frogs aren't they?

I remember going down the Route Napoleon from the Grenoble end on my mates French registered VFR750 that I'd borrowed. I was going for it and convinced myself that I WAS Mick Doohan when a guy in T-shirt, jeans and an open faced lid came around me on the outside, sparks flying from the pegs of a Suzuki based street fighter thing, one hand on the bars giving me that cool French biker sign with the other and all with a fag in his mouth

Had similar experience to you Jools, was on a great uphill twisty section where I was overtaken by what sounds like the same bloke. However this chap had a number of very long French bread loaves bungied across the back of his bike. Tried to keep up with him and failed. Wanted to see if the ends of the bread loaves ever touched the ground as they werent far off with the amount of lean he was using.

He could have tried to get his Knee down !

Ray 08-Sep-2006 22:20

A group of us got the local gendarmerie to show us to our hotel on Run the sun 2001, first we couldn't keep up with them and then we couldn't believe it when they waved us through a red traffic light..........

I guess they don't need any heavy duty clothing cos they never fall off!!

Ray.

Actually that's the job I wanted to do a few years ago, when I still thought I was a bit fast

they all must be taught from the same training package around the world, they all see to be issued with a broomstick to shove up their exhaust to achieve the correct seating position.

On out trip back from Assen WSB we called in at Ten Kate and noticed they also build the dutch police bikes, so keep your eyes open for Win Win Pan Europeans and don't bother trying to out run them! ;)
