Thats a tad offensive, so I'm a w****r for suggesting a GSXR whatever the cc, wouldn't be as fulfilling as a you know what.

It'll never replace the old slab sided GSXR or the Slingshot,...they were iconic bikes you know.Of course the new Gixxer was really the 1964 design for the MV.Suzuki should never sacked their designer Yoshimura san. What they should have done was fit twin headlights and under seat exhausts and keep the service costs down, then I would have bought one for deffo,....blah,blah,blah,bollox;)

keefy keefy keefy <shakes head>

you really should get your bollux right, as anyone here will tell you (cos they are all old like you too;) ) that it all stems from the avid jealousy that the Norton Dominator caused amongst biking chums when it first came out ooooohh so many years ago.......

C, off to paint her nails:)

Age 996

Know how you feel!

Mello-Yellow 11-Sep-2006 10:24

Age

Give us a report after 2/3,000 miles, you should have a good idea what they are like to own/ride by then.

Have been thinking about swopping the 996 for either the 750 or r1.

Grib 11-Sep-2006 11:03

Very nice :) Rode a K5 a few times, really nice medium between the 600 and 1000. The only bike I'd have other than my ZX6 :)

Nice bike ;)

I have already left the fold and bought an 06 Blade in black :)

Got fed up waiting for ducati :(

Was hoping to go for the new 1200 in 07 , but iam not going to buy the stop gap 1099 !!!!!

Jools 11-Sep-2006 14:51

Just speaking about this on yesterdays ride out. Best bikes if you couldn't buy a Ducati were reckoned to be a GSXR 750, a Trumpet 675 for hooning or a Moto Guzzi Griso for a lazy jaunt out for a pub lunch.

On the other hand....

I rode a Multistrada for the first time yesterday. In the real world, on real roads, do you really need more than 85-100 bhp delivered in a grunty, torquey way? I rode the Melton-Colsterworth road yesterday on my own and didn't see many other bikes, but there are two fireblades and an R6 riding in a group that know the answer to that one

Sentiments i can agree with...................

R1's rule, they are the choice of real riders.........as long as they are RED

Shame its but fug ugly and wont keep up with anyone that knows how to ride a decent machine huh..............LOL

Glyn 11-Sep-2006 18:10

come on kids time to behave your selfs or it will be off to bed early with no pudding or a story

IMHO riding bikes shouldn't be about keeping up with the jones's
it's about enjoying the open road/ track
one mans meat etc
i am now in the enviable position of having two bikes at pretty different ends of the ducati spectrum and have previously owned Il4's
every thing i have riden i have enjoyed in differnt ways
my st2 is a big old bike with 80 odd bhp i think it's still the most enjoyable bike i've owned
the 749s on the other hand is probably the most exciting to ride
my old fzr600 has got to be akin to my first real love
even had a dragstar 650 for a while not quite sure what i can say about that but it did look very shiny
but what bike have i had the most fun on not sure but it's either my old ap50 or mbx 125, dont know what bhp they had though??

Grib 11-Sep-2006 18:34

Nobody needs 100bhp+ by it feels bloody good when you've got it there to play with :D

Still taking the BMW to Normandy Karl - it's perfect for the longer trips. The GSXR is for local blasts and trackdays :)
