You may be correct about grey imports but the book I have say's they were not imported to these shores until 96, I don't claim to be an expert but I bought my first 748 in 96 & waited ages for it had it on order from mid 95 & there was very few 916 or 748 about.

To quote Ian Falloons book 'The Ducati story';
"In memory of the great Formula One racing driver Ayrton Senna, tragically killed at Imola shortly after approving the 916 Senna prototype on 7 March 1994,the 916 Senna was created.Using the 1994 Strada engine with the Pankl con-rods,along with SP bodywork,Ohlins rear shock absorber, brakes and carbon fibre mufflers and clutch cover, each of the 300 Sennas came with a plaque on the top triple clamp, and were painted grey with red wheels. They also came with a certification document and, like all the desmoquattros for 1995,had a revised CPU management system.":frog: :smug:

bolds 12-Sep-2006 21:23

Yes - Mk1 Grey/Matt black 1995
Mk2 Silver 1996
None in 1997
And last one Mk3 Black 1998

Ozz 12-Sep-2006 22:41

According to the good book (Ian Falloon - Standard Catalog of Ducati Motorcycles) the Senna 1 was 1995. Production specifically for UK appears to be 15 for 1995

Chris Wood 13-Sep-2006 11:39

I'm glad that's sorted then.....

I've got a '95 Senna in my garage...lovely! 3rd owner 15,000 miles.

One of these days I'll get it back on the road!

I also know of a BRAND NEW 1995 one, 0 miles in a lovely shed near Gatwick???

Ozz 13-Sep-2006 12:05

Really? I'd give 'em £50 for it...

Ozz 13-Sep-2006 15:59

Chris Wood 13-Sep-2006 16:02

OK! you've sold me on the Fazer....LOL

Ozz 13-Sep-2006 16:21

Thought that would clinch the deal....

MJS 13-Sep-2006 16:49

I have a very lovely brand new monoposto seat unit in silver (Mk2?) propped up against a wall at home.. real piece of art - would love a fully silver one...
