Thought I would have a change, had the R6 for 4 weeks and I'm well pleased and I don't miss the Duk at all. If anyone is thinking of a change then try the R6.

I tried one. Lots of revs, no torque, gutless even if it's fast. The strange thing is that it develops less torque than the older bike - it only develops more power due to gazillions of revs. It's ok if you like that sort of thing but, a 749 (or a 675) would leave it for dead on anything but the longest straight.

Even the rags like PB say the same thing...which is illuminating to say the least and not what I would expect.

Enjoy - it's not for me.

sounds interesting, what did you test for and how did you do it? According PB magazine a ZX6R is quicker round their track than a 999 and an RSVR1000

Explain smokes them both

http://www.ngroadracing.org/results_...ar19/600cc.php

The 6 year old 748RS and the 675 looked to be holding their own, not what I would call getting smoked

Yamasukihondasakiductrilla R600RRGSXR is always gonna be the greatest fastest bike until the next greatest fastest bike comes along.

keep 'em coming:lol:

The comic had an article on £1500 sports bikes V a Gixer thou.

Yer pays yer money and makes yer choice,

IIRC the old nail was about 1.5 seconds a lap slower than the latest "must have"

Ray.

Nail on the head there.:)

I was very tempted to swap the 748 for a new R6 after a test ride.

TP 13-Sep-2006 18:29

I've spent a bit of time on track on the new R6 and it definitely is fast. I haven't learned how to ride the thing properly but first impressions are that it's very light and flickable, brakes well!, but if you're not above 12kRPM absolutely nothing is going to happen.

Still, a few people I know who've ridden them more than me and back to back with this years R1 (;)) say that the R6 is still the quicker bike around the track. And these boys are fairly quick and know what they're on about.

sharpo 13-Sep-2006 21:37

looks great, I like the shiny stripe on the edge of the tyre too, it looks just like mine.
