Smile..

How do you get smilies in the text of a thread??

jeff st4s 14-Sep-2006 13:16

I think you have to pay for them. :o
Because I'm a paid up member and I've got this cute little box (or so I've been told) with all these funny things in to brighten up and high light a thread.
:) :)

doogalman 14-Sep-2006 13:17

But i am a paid up member! I've a roundel you know.

Obviously your Roundel's bigger than mine and it must therefore hide your cute little box.

Redruth 14-Sep-2006 13:20

You either use the ones at the bottom of your 'reply to thread' box or there's a more complicated system, which I looked at when the board changed but now it just seems too fiddly to bother with. Can't even remember how to find it now.

You could just make your posts a lot more interesting and then they wouldn't need anything to liven them up     :)

If you gently move the mouse over the cute little smilie box, then go to the word MORE , just below the red devil, you know where he is! It opens a whole new world of beauty and pleasure for us all to behold.

Ozz 14-Sep-2006 13:36

I think I had the problem where I could not get them in and found there was a setting in my profile - something about used advanced reply or something and now I get the smilies every time I do a reply.

Sorry I was not adding anything as useful as your post I was just assuming everyone had already done it!
There was I off in my own little world.

I learnt the code for  because it's the one I need the most, that's all. I'll use your instructions next time I need to expand.

Sorry if my comment hurt, Doogalman. You need to toughen up a bit mate ;)

We seem to be experiencing delicate flower day today, must be the weather, no good for pansies.

Iconic944ss 14-Sep-2006 14:26

Oh dear - so I have to be captain sensible again eh? - Well set up....

OK - either learn some of the keystrokes - like Ruth from here:

http://www.ducatisportingclub.com/mi...do=showsmilies

OR

When posting a reply - hit the "Go Advanced" button at the bottom and in the toolbar there is a smiley that will show you the others.

Frank

doogalman 14-Sep-2006 16:03

test

does it work???

Gaz 748 14-Sep-2006 16:08

How did you do that ?

Ozz 14-Sep-2006 16:30

Franks method did not work for me. I had to go into user settings/edit options and change this:

Miscellaneous Options
Message Editor Interface
When posting messages to the forums or other members, there are three interface types available to you. The simplest of these is a simple text box, while the last is a fully-fledged WYSIWYG editor, which allows you to format your text as you want it and see the results immediately.

Depending upon the capabilities of your web browser, you may not be able to use all of these options. If you experience problems when posting messages, try switching to a different interface type.
Message Editor Interface:

To: Standard editor - enhanced interface (or something like that).

Then the smilies panel always comes up when replying

Gaz 748 14-Sep-2006 16:32

Careful otherwise you will get the Dani squad on your case, some things are holy ground and beyond criticsm, remember anyone who drives a Ferrari or rides a Honda is not allowed to be spoken badly of as not to offend. This is not a passionate Ducati site but a P.C. Forum!

His name is very close to pede I think we should be a bit careful here.

doogalman 14-Sep-2006 20:21

Pédé [shortened from pédéraste] m homosexual (applied to men only). Very common use.

doogalman 14-Sep-2006 20:26

Considering the fact i originally started the thread asking about smilies , we are now on to a public figure who does not. It's like Chinese Whispers. Isn't it fun.

He's out to spoil another championship, he's more miserable than me, everything that goes wrong will not be his fault, I hope Barros puts him in his place.

Well at least we are not starting a fight or making anyone cry.
