Just bought a Monster 600....

Blimey what a funny day. All ready to have a look at the local 600 Monster that was advertised on here and bang ChrisP sells me his! Hope he does not mind me posting a piccie but I am a bit excited (even though I have yet to sell my Fazer, tell the Wife and work out how to get a bike 200 miles away back here)

Gaz 748 15-Sep-2006 16:30

Well done Ozz, about time

Welcome to the strange world of Ducati ownership :biaggi:

Ozz 15-Sep-2006 17:16

Hmm Wife is not quite as excited as I am as I have not sold my old bike.....

....ah well!

DaveB916 15-Sep-2006 19:09

Nice one.

Shandy 15-Sep-2006 19:22

Good choice........

.........there bloody good fun!!

Ozz 15-Sep-2006 19:52

Its gonna be weird. For a few years now I have been on this site and not owned a Duke. This made me feel a bit like a train or plane spotter!

But now I am one of you.....

Ozz 16-Sep-2006 23:00

Hmm still sorting the options to get it from Lincoln to here.

It appears I can have a 5 hour train journey up for only £32 and then ride back.... Hmm maybe!

chris.p 17-Sep-2006 09:02

I think hireing a van will be the best option, especialy if the weather is nasty the day you come up, also the time you leave etc is as you want it to be:)

Chris.:burn:

Dave G 17-Sep-2006 11:11

How long will it take you to modify it?
....You are going to modify it...aren't you?;)

chicken 17-Sep-2006 17:43

nice one Paul.

I can ride it to yours if you give me the Fazer to ride back! ;)

Ozz 17-Sep-2006 20:40

Chris may be the best option. I am tomorrow going to look into one way hire, ie drive something up to you and ride back.

Ian I had that thought but also would like to get it down here before 3 weeks time as the weather is on the turn. Having said that if anyone is driving a van to BSB at Brands that may be an option. Cadwell may have to be the one though.

Chi, sounds fair, your accounts bill has just gone up by £2k...

Dave probably not as it is just a stepping stone to a 748 or something next year when more funds are available!

ricky996 17-Sep-2006 20:45

nice one, will make a good commuter town bike

KeefyB 17-Sep-2006 20:49

As stated in another thread,...I'm coming down to Bournemouth this friday,...I can pick the bike up and ride it down,if ya like.

Redruth 17-Sep-2006 21:08

Well done Ozz :)

A bloke I know rides up to Hemel from Blandford in Dorset to work three days a week. He has Honda SP thingy with a pillion seat. I should be able to catch him tomorrow to ask him to bring you up this far. From here, I can take you as a pillion to Lincoln (as long as you don't weigh more than about 12 stone, that is. Don't fancy being squashed to death against my own tank;). How does that sound?

You MUST ride it home, regardless of the weather. It's a Monster. They don't mind the rain. When I picked up my new bike on Thursday, the guy at Ducati Aylesbury said two people due to collect their new bikes had cancelled because 'it looked like rain'. It is incumbent on us to dispel this rediculous myth that Ducatis can't be ridden in the rain.

PM me if you want to get this lined up.

skidlids 17-Sep-2006 22:01

good choice Ozz, I've had quite a bit of fun on my M600 in the few months that I have owned it.

Until I get my entry back from New Era I will not know how many bikes I am taking to Cadwell, if only one then I could get the Bike from Chris's house (I think I can remember where it is) to Oxford.
Unless Chris could get it to Mallory (met Chris there before on the odd occassion) next Sunday as I'm up there to watch a mate racing and could take the van.

I think Newark auto-jumble is also on next sunday which isn't far from Chris's so if anybody was going to that ??

still hope you get it sorted in time to enjoy a few dry rideouts

Fair enough Chris, It will be the first EMRA event I've attended so will be interesting to see how their meetings run, I take it that its DP at Cadwell

Ruth, lovely offer and much as I would love to have a ride with you  (the Wife already thinks I am in love with you as I mentioned you a couple of times when you bought your 3rd bike!) I hate being a pillion (in fact I would rather gnaw my own foot off than be on the back of a bike) and I am a bit too hefty (over 12 stone now) and would keep bannging into the back of you....

Skids thanks also for that offer.

Ozz 18-Sep-2006 15:28

Hmm one way car rental for under £50 seems a good deal plus fuel of course.

I'm sorry. There seems to have been some misunderstanding here Ozz. I thought you were already in love with me too!

Please treat my offer as withdrawn and hop it, big boy ;)

Ozz 18-Sep-2006 18:30

:( Sorry darling...

Apology accepted. I'm sooo over you

Best of luck with getting the new bike. You won't regret it. Why don't you try to tie collecting it in with the last round of the DD on 8th October and come along to Cadwell to show it off?

Blimey I was dropped quick!

The intention now is to drive up one way in a car and ride it back. Otherwise the Cadwell suggestion was a good one.

I'll pop in thursday for a coffee shall I? (Says he not even knowing where Hemel is or whether it is on the way!!).
