Ducati 750 sport c. 1973 Does anyone know much about this model? I am hoping someone could tell me if this is the machine that the current 'sport classic' is based on. If so, what sort of price do the older bikes go for? thanks in advance |

it was Ducatis first 750 L twin, try Classic bike for pricing as I think there were a few models, some of which go for silly money, like over £20k, others for more like £3k+ have a look at www.mdinaitalia.co.uk If you look at the customers bikes page, you will see my mate Paul Russ Bike 750GT which he paid about £3k for. Andrew Nahums 750SS is worth a whole LOT more. |
It.s the 750 imola that commands big bucks. 750sport classic ducati pre desmo l-twin. Looks so much better than the sport classic which designers took the influence for. looks very like the original 900ss, but in yellow with black lining.normally unfaired.. the engine is the roundcase version as opposed to the later square case. Very early ones had a wide rear subframe same as the GT but they soon changed to a slimmer sub and seat unit. I have a cafe'd 750GT. Used to know John at Mdina in above post, great guy passionate about the bevel dukes, call him. say Roy in Redhill sent you. If he remembers after the years. http://i7.ebayimg.com/04/i/08/50/a9/c8_12.JPG Not a very good pic , but i am in a hurry. |
Thanks guys, that's a real help. 749er : Please could you check that link for me as I am unable to get it to work. Thanks |

Yeah, that is a nice one. Hmmm, need to find some more out about these older bikes me thinks...... |
In 2004 I bumped into a bloke whilst I was racing at Donington. He was racing a real genuine original 750 Imola - it was rough as a badgers arse cos it had never been restored. It was gorgeous. :D |
We met up with a fellow upnorther on Saturday on our Highland tour, he turned up on this ![]() |
God that is LOVELY-Chris Bushell has one in his garage that he has been doing some work on for a guy. He is generally acknowledged as the clubs expert on the older bikes-particularly singles but he knows a fair bit about the twins as well-worth a PM. John |

that's really nice. Is it a 750 ss / 750 sport ? What sort of money do you think that would be worth ? |

I think Sppedymoto have done a good job with the modern sports classic http://secure.speedymoto.com/images/SpeedyMotoSport.jpg |
I had a 1975 750 Sport and its one bike I bitterly regret selling, I had it for nine years from new and loved every minute. You must be aware that the new Spot models are nothing like the originals and are very bulky compared to the originals. My old one was good for 120 on a good day and handled like a dream. I sold mine for 1500 squids in Px for my jota but they now fetch around 12-15K and if your really rich you could go for a 750 Desmo @ 25K. |
