I have some naughty boys please help!!! I know that this is completely bike unrelated...but I need some help. Can anybody direct me to any good literature on behaviour management? I am "super nanny" with dark skin but I have some boys that are not yet succumbing to to my "charm" in the classroom...I need some good strategies as the positive behaviour management isn't yet working. I know the old "cane em, hit em, good smack'll do the trick, blah de blah" but I can't do that it's the new Millenium! Any help from you wise people on here would be greatfully recieved :) L x |
how old are they? |
slow process of rewarding even the slightest good behaviour and once a little progress has been made explaining to them why the bad behaviour makes you "sad" not sure3 what school rules are like these days, but one of our teachers used to keep a bag of wine gums in her bag. |
threaten 'em with the wrath of the DSC ! LOL |
Find out what they like ,and take it off them untill they behave !!!!!! If that dont work...... Baseball bat em !!! |
Find their level and speak to em at that - rewards for good stuff - be unmoving for others. They will play you -play them back ;) Always explain your reasons for good or bad. Make them think - turn it around. Give them options. Then they choose thier punishment or otherwise. Adolecents - know it all - know feck all - we know that - they dont! I've got 2 of the ******s - however mine are nice - but it doens't mean ihaven't had to be devious in the past ;) |
The stars actually said - b u g g er s not anything else btw ;) |
I love it when you talk dirty Lisa!!!! Have you tried a Tazer or cattle prod? |
Liza, Im afraid I'm not the best person in the world for advice of this nature.I and my twin brother once had a head teacher ring my Mum and asked could she come to school and take us home as we we untolearable. Im a good boy now I hope  . I would of thought you arriving late one day with the full leathers and helmet on bursting into the classroom would do it for any hot blooded youngster (All respect intended) or some one looking for a role model Unfortunetly most of the problems with kids stem from their home life. If they get no respect at home, there won't show any, live with criticism, learn to condemn. live with hostility learn to fight, live with ridicule learn to be shy. On the other hand, learns tolerance learns to be patience, lives with encouragment learns confidence, lives with praise learns to appreciate. I'm sure I dont need to be teaching the teacher, but as for a quick fix Fraid not. Teachers now a days have far to many restrictions on Rewards and Punishment and kids no it to there advantage. Bring back the cane I say. Regards 4D |
Lisa, e-mail my girlfriend Carol. She teaches in a large local comprehensive and her job is to deal with the students that the other teachers can't handle, either in class groups or on a one to one basis. I'll pm her e-mail address to you. BC |
Lisa it sounds like you need to speak to Senna3's wife Trudi she works with problem teenagers at a special school/unit, she's been doing the job of a TA there for a few years now so knows a thing or two about getting through to them. PM me your number or text it to me at 07956 271131 and I can pass it on to Trudi if you want |
Try take away all treats, goodies etc.... this usually works without the swift slap! BUT you must be harsh. Whatever their favourite thing - Just ban it!! They soon sit up and listen! |
Thanks so much guys :) I am he most tolerant of people and am using all the strategies I can...they have yet to spot my bike pictures so that could be a reward in store and one I've used before. The positive behaviours ARE working albeit very slowly & I know (of old) that there is no quick fix. I just need some other strategies under my belt in case they get tired of these. Apparently we're not allowed to use sweets coz they are seen as bribes! But thanks Glyn, I feel a sweetie jar emerging from my desk drawer! I didn't think about Trudi, Kev Thanks for reminding me...I may bell her when I get really desperate. Thanks guys...I know what I am doing already is gonna work eventually but rather than bang my head against a wall till it bleeds and cry myself to sleep with frustration I would pass it to you lot coz you always say such comforting things (even if it is "hit em with a baseball bat, Mav!) |
