Who's your money on then ? well its really going down to the wire but who do you think is going to clinch it in the end. at the beginning of the season I wanted anyone other than Rossi to win. just to mix it up a bit. but now that Hayden is so close to it I really want Rossi to steal it away from him. Strange I know. I really think Hayden is feeling the pressure to much, all the whinging about the yellow flag issue at Australia and so on. Rossi is on a roll cant believe we have to wait 3 weeks till the next one. O well what do you all think |
Im was the same really. Wanted any other racer to win other than Rossi this year but after the way he has pulled it back and all the bad luck he seemed to have near the start of the year has made me want Rossi to win it again. After all, he is one of the greatest riders IMHO anyhow. I cant help but wonder how the likes of Hayden and Padrosser? would do on the yamaha?? I all I want to see now if Rossi on the Ducati. Just to see what would happen???? DC. |
Hayden all the way, i like Rossi but the lads just got bags of talent and i love his style!! ABout time somebody else deserves to win, hes so consistant, he deserves it this year, just hope he can keep it together for the final few races as im sure the pressures getting to him a bit! If you havent seen this vid of hayden check it out - Unbelievable!! http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...78466997568582 |
Rossi for me. Hayden has won 2 races this year - the same a Pedrosa and less than Capirossi (3), Melandri (3) and Rossi (5). Yes consistency rewards in a championship but it's a bit of a **** way to win! |

and who would bet against Rossi/Capirossi winning the remainder? |
Rossi will do it ! I don't see that Hayden has the extra 1% needed ! |
I would like Hayden to win, Rossi is great, no doubt about it, but the way he does it, is not always right, it is more like a must win or bust, Rossi & Shuwy seem to have come from the same mould. Chris:burn: |
Rossi hopefully. Would like to se Capirex get close but its a tall order. |
In my opinion, Rossi is the greatest ever. He has nothing else to prove. I would like to see Rossi do it because he can never have enough honours in my book. On the other hand, I like Hayden too. I respectfuly disagree with gsxrage ; I think Hayden does have the extra 1% that's needed. I really thought there was more than the odd occasion this season when he looked TOTALLY focused. If he wins the title, I'll be well pleased. All I want to see now in moto gp is : 1.Capirossi to stay with Ducati until he retires. There is no better sight in motorcycle racing than him on a Duke... Awesome 2. Rossi on a Ducati alongside Loris 3. Hopkins on a decent bike |
Rossi, - unfortunately, - I also wanted another name on the role, and with a bit of luck Ducati could have been up there this year. Not sure that Hayden wants it enough for a win it or bin it move if it comes to it. Rossi wants it more and would do anything to win it. Hayden will still look back on his career and say "I did well with 2nd". |
Valentino....Sure he puts hard moves on people sometimes but hey, hes paid to win not make friends. If he can win this after the season he's had then all power to him, he deserves it and certain others should really take a look at themselves as its been there on a plate! Nicky Hayden, 3 wins in 4 years on a honda? i'd be embarrassed if he became champ with a record like that |
Rossi is without doubt the most talented rider in MotoGP but IMHO I've simply got sick of his mind games and stunts... If he leaves MotoGP however, the effect could be devastating and I cant help thinking if he loses the title his year, then it would make him want to regain it all the more. So, I'd kinda like Hayden to lift the title - he's rode a developement bike most of the year (apparently) on his own and as for the yellow flag protest I wonder if that was more Honda's doing than Hayden's. I just really want Loris to win all the remaining races :) A real racer in my mind! Frank |
hayden just not a racer for me and i so want loris to win but it look real hard from where he is. i think ducati can say what if he didnt have that horror crash he could of been world champ, |
Rossi is my tip for the title. What a year he has had. Forever an uphill battle. Haydon should have been eeking away from him in the points. But no he's cracking. Rossi is moving in for the kill. I just hope he does it. |
I think Rossi will get it, but if Dani hadn't got injured I reckon he would have come very close, probably beating Hayden in the points total. |
If Rossi can't overhaul him in points at the next race and then it comes down to the last race of the year, what will Hayden do? Maybe his only chance of a championship, do a Senna and ease him off the track? What would you lot do?  |
If Rossi wins it'll be the biggest title victory in his career, if Hayden wins I'd imagine people will say he won it because of Rossi's run of bad luck, imagine if Rossi/Yamaha didn't have the off's, the tyre problems, the mechanicals where would Hayden be now?But Hayden has never had the same bike at ever race, always developing HRC's bike for next year so fair play to him for getting to where he is.I like most wanted someone else to win, but to be fair I really don't think Hayden has done anything to deserve the title this year he's no fighter like Loris, Vale etc |
Rossi is gonna do it. Hayden is not just fighting the other riders on track but probably HRC as well. HRC keep messing with the bike, the clutch is just not working properly. HRCs attitude is that the bike wins the races not the rider, a rider is just another plug in part, HRC have plenty in stock as it were............. I would have loved to see Capirossi and Rossi slug it out for the championship at the last round. Next year maybe. Ray. |
The talk in MOTO GP is that Hayden has been developing his bike during the season and this may have been a slight hinderence to him. Rossi developed the Yamaha in much the same way only when he took that bike on its seemed to be a dead duck in the water. Rossi still took the title that year and in cool style. Thing I keep asking myself is where would all these other so called would be champions be on the yamaha?? Hayden is on a bike that was always stated as a sure thing out of the crate. Rossi had brilliant rides on the RC but it was always stated that it was the honda and not Rossi. Just have to look at what he has done on the yam and what the other riders have not. Apart from a quick flash in the pan every so often. Like him or loath him, Rossi is one hell of a rider and you cant say," on I want so and so to win because Im getting bored with Rossi." That just not how it works. Hes at the top because he is, a true gifted rider. End of. ( well and with a little help from Burgess!!) DC. |
Yea I'm not so sure I subscribe to this Hayden has had it so tough because he has been developing the bike story. everyone makes it sound as if Honda have given him a load of **** to work with. it just cant be the case. Honda want the title so bad it hurts them. I mean do we really believe Honda cant put a clutch together to get of the line quick ? or did Hayden just bottle it on the line again ? |
The issue of Hayden's clutch only seems to have come up over the last few weeks, when he's suddenly started to really struggle - I can remember races earlier in the season when he rocketed off the line. And yet now they're claiming he's been struggling with it all season? What is apparant to me, is that he's still running the same pace as he has been all season, but whilst he was getting 2nd/3rds earlier in the season, now everyone is fully fit and back from their injuries - Gibernau, Melandri, Capirossi from Barcelona, he's finishing top 5 if lucky - as a package, Hayden and (development) Honda is not fast enough. Take his win at Assen - where was the competition? Rossi had a broken hand in practice, Capirossi could barely walk or breath, Gibernau was missing, Melandri looked like a panda with all his bruising. Personally I think he will hold on - it will only take one decent result out of the two races to pretty much wrap it up, but I do think he'll be a very lucky champion to say the least. |
Rossi for me....... I just don't like Hayden, to much moaning and not enough doing..... It's a shame Capirossi had that off mid season that could have made for a really interesting end to the season with the form he's on now. Shandy |

I really rate him but the Suzuki just don't cut the mustard. imagine him on the Roberts bike ? think he is to tied into the Suzuki deal. sure he wants a proper crack at the title though. Thoughts |
Slight twist of Keefer's question, but if it comes down to a few points at Valencia, do you really think it'll be be the place to prove the worthy champ? It's such a nightmare place to overtake, and other than the end of the main straight, it's really just a follow the leader place............. |

One things for sure, i know he's signed for next year, but if he wins the championship this year or not Rossi won't leave gp's until he's cleaned up |
Rossi all the way, serious talent and skill, far superior to any out there, had the worst start to any season, but dug deep, far deeper then anyone else out there could and is back on for a fight to the end, if he wins...its amazing. If hayden wins, its because of Rossi`s bad luck in the early part of the season. The only other contender out there is Caparossi, now he`s got the Duke set up, he`s on fire....(shame about that crash, it would`ve been awsome to see him and Rossi bashing fairings) Next years 800 season should be good, but this year its Rossi all the way... |
dani ped the boy yo watch next year |
Rossi for me, if the Hayden had ridden the yam at the beginning of the season he would have been bitchin and whingeing more than he was on the Honda. Surely Rossi has the upper hand he certainly has the mind games won and in that respect he is very similar to Schumacher but at least Rossi is not so objectionable. Just as important to me is that Haslam and Baylistic win tommorrow ! Maybe someone who knows more about Rossi than I can explain why he doesnt ride a Ducati, surely for Italian on an Italian has to be the best honour, 2008 ??????? |

Im sure i'll get shot down though -:) |

It was in his book, it was more about "just" being a rider on someones technology. No better than Honda as far as he was concerned, whereas Yamaha were more of a family. In some ways just look how hard Loris has had to ride, with a savage machine under him, apparently in the early days the riders had little input and thats what Rossi wanted, as he thought he was more important than companies slugging it out in a competition of whose technical brilliance was best. |

He also mentions that Ducati have more PR requirements for the riders than Honda/Yamaha. |
