MotoGP Spoiler

Just thought I'd chuck this in as the other thread doesn't have the word spoiler in the title ...

Well what do you know eh ... Hayden was looking good, right up until Pedrosa punted him! It could have been a very different result ... but it isn't, and Rossi takes a nice 8 point lead into the final race. Elias obviously tried a new cereal for breakfast this morning - where the hell did he come from and how the hell could he make that double apex left braking so late and so sideways! I think Honda will give him a tasty christmas bonus after stealing 5 pts off Vale at the end and keeing the Hayden's deficit to 8.

If Hayden doesn't take a blowtorch to Pedrosa's gonads after that I'll be surprised! I was trying to read his lips in that last close up shot and I think he was saying "It was supposed to be my year" I honestly can't see Hayden getting another opportunity like this to win the championship.

So ... an 8 point lead .. and a 9 point gap between the points that are awarded for 1st and 3rd ... so if Hayden wins in Valencia, Rossi needs to come 2nd in order to win the title ... hrmmm, it's gonna be good!

rcgbob44 15-Oct-2006 14:31

Really enjoyed that little encounter but something wasn`t right with Rossi towards the end, he just seemed visibly slower than usual.

Twinfan 15-Oct-2006 14:32

An un-smegging-believebale race :o

Toni was awesome, and I was totally shocked when the Repols went down.

Did you see how happy Rossi was in the interviews? The cat that's got the cream ;)

Yes Hayden was looking good until Pedrosa took him out. He must be absolutely gutted.

KeefyB 15-Oct-2006 14:43

I did not put spoiler in the title as the thread was happening live, as the race was. Even after the end of the race, the results were not divulged for all to see. If you read the posts you could have interpreted any outcome you had wanted.:D

Jeez, wasn't having a pop ... I just wanted a place I could mention the results and I couldn't in your thread.

I won't bother next time.

doogalman 15-Oct-2006 15:54

Not having a go just clarifying.:o Enjoying your post.:D Blinder of a race. Haydens face of hatred will be all over the press.
Roll on spain. Hurry hurry

Guido 15-Oct-2006 15:58

Hey Tony,

Don't get excited matey....

Leave that to Hayden... He will be slightly more excitable than normal this afternoon.

I'm almost as "excitable" as Nicky H after starting my bike up today (post-rebuild) only to find I still have the gearbox problem and some!!!!!!!

Fookin Ducati's !!!!!!! Most expensive paperweight in history

Free to good home......74ShiteR

That was befor Hayden dragged him round the back of the paddock and gave the little runt a good kickin':o :o

851neil 15-Oct-2006 16:43

Mr 'not so' consistant loses out, if he'd been as good as all of the hype then Rossi wouldn't be anywhere near the bloke at this stage of the season.
Pity really as I was looking forward to a slugfest, and also to Rossi being a few points closer and then a big climax in Valencia.
Now it's the other way round it'll be interesting to see how Hayden copes, now he's behind, come race day...

Jools 15-Oct-2006 16:45

I can just here the folks in Kentucky now...

"Nope, ain't no-one called Pedrosa round these here parts....not, alahve anyhoo"

doogalman 15-Oct-2006 16:47

It will still be a slugfest.
Good show by the fledgling Ilmor, 1 point.:D I wonder if Capirossi will ride the 800 next time out as the title is not for him now?

yorkie 15-Oct-2006 17:31

It was a superb race, cant wait for the next one!!!

GC, Whats up now, i was going to pop round today after a little ride out, just to show you the louder, higher race cans!

Guido 15-Oct-2006 17:38

Hi Yorkie,

Shame you didn't.... Would have been good to seeya.

Not sure on problem as bike has been completely stripped at Neil's and rebuilt with gearbox being thoroughly checked.

Started it today on the ramp...had same sypmtons as before rebuild...(i.e. lurching in 4th).

Cannot find neutral now either.....so don't have a clue whatsup. Need to try and get clutch seal sorted so's I can ensure clutch is A1 and then get the fuel can out and torch the fookin thing.

Patience running out big-time with this piece of £11,000 (and counting) cr@p

I thought it was ironic that Pedrosa now has to deal with Haydn's wrath after he was so ungracious towards Stoner yesterday in the qualifying. I hope Haydn isn't too hard on him. Anyone can make a mistake, albeit a huge, stupid, costly one. That's racing, isn't it? They talk about there being no team orders. I think it's great that all the racers are out for themselves at the end of the day.

I was gob-smacked at Elias. That man's a complete nutter. I loved the way Rossi and Kenny Roberts Jr were shown talking about it afterwards - looked liked they couldn't believe the way Tony was riding. I wonder whose shopping list Elias will be on now.

Can't wait for Valencia :)

madmav 15-Oct-2006 19:02

what was amazing was the stonking pace Elias showed and was he the last of the late brakers or what?

YMFB 15-Oct-2006 19:37

what a great race, it was good for Rossi that the Hondas self destructed so that he cant be accused of schumacher type antics ! Why were the Ducs so far off the pace ? Has Sete broken his collar bone again ? how many more times before the guy is irrepairable

doogalman 15-Oct-2006 19:43

Rossi will be wanted dead or alive by Honda. Will someone be on a suicide mission, for a hefty end of year bonus?

Bridgstone tyre issues.Randy Mamola spoke to the tyre techies and they admitted they would be lucky if they lasted the race. All those big right handers were rippin' em to shreds. He also mentioned that Michelin had come up with a triple compound tyre to combat wear.

Iconic944ss 15-Oct-2006 21:36

Must watch the replay again but it looked to me like Pedrosa went up on the INSIDE curb or perhaps he'd lost it already (the bike, not the plot).

Superb rides from both Elias and Kenny Jr.

Flights to Valencia anyone ;)

Col996s 15-Oct-2006 21:42

The end of season races seem the best ones of the year. This one was brilliant, as was the last WSBK meeting.
What am I going to do after Valencia?

Bionicle 15-Oct-2006 22:55

I have to admit, it was nail biteing stuff, even her indoors who does not normaly watch, sat there gobsmacked at the way Elias was making his moves.
Felt sorry for Hayden, but i guess thats what its all about, still dont think Pedrosa had a cat in hells chance of making that move stick without binning it

Ah well what do i know(armchair racer) :)

Ray 17-Oct-2006 12:54

Wow, what a race, I really can't see that being beaten, but I hope I'm wrong.

Pedrobots not been programmed correctly by HRC, got on the curb and lost the front.

Elias was unbelievable coming from miles back, sliding all over the curbs, overtaking where it appeared impossible. Nice to see Edwards up front.

The stuff about Imor was interesting in the pre race beeb build up.

Ray.
