Thanks to Kim, James &......................Roy

Well here I am on the slow count down to do the Enduro Africa event, I keep getting the "oh by the way, have you bought this and you have to pay out here as well, remember to get all those expensive jabs too" etc.
Just when I thought I was out of the woods, I get an email now saying it will be a good idea if you bought a GPS unit just in case you get lost, after a large sigh, I thought I'd phone Roy up to see what he thought on me suggesting to the Surrey boys they sponser me for a GPS unit and I'll donate it to whoever is leading the more adventurous rides we are hoping to do when I get back, they can then pass it on to the next guy.
But I never got the chance to get that far as Kim, James & Roy stepped in and paid the lot, so with a huge smile on my face and a genuine tear in my eye I have to say thanks guys. xx

:) :) :) :) :)

I know the answer to this you go to

user settings

edit options

then go down to

miscellaeneous

and change it to "enhanced interface"

then when you hot reply use the "go advanced"

over and out from the smart ar*e:D

doogalman 20-Oct-2006 15:37

On a more serious note, i'm sure Jeff would be most appreciative if there is anyone else that is prepared to offer some sponsorship. You know it's a good cause, go on do something to help some lives (and it involves bikes). it's all for charity.

Florence 20-Oct-2006 16:05

I need to get on here more often! I keep hitting wrong buttons! Mmmmm curry. When I finish work, I shall have ago at 749r's instructions.

Redruth 20-Oct-2006 16:15

That's great Jeff. Getting other people to buy you stuff is always the preferred option. Good luck on this trip. How many people are going and have they got all the sponsorship sorted out? As I had such good support for my RFH Davd Harris evening, I'll put my hand in my pocket for some sponsorship for you, if you're looking for some. Or I could provide the batteries. I keep a big supply of them for a number of battery operated items ;)

Thanks for the luck.

135 foolish people, thats surprise surprise, 135 bikes for the health workers in SA.
I've forked out the £4k for the bike/trip, spent over £1k on motor x clothing/safety gear, so the GPS was the final straw. :)
When I'm out there, we pay for our food/drink when out on the road, our own petrol and a new set of tyres when we finnish, if we have any spills on the bikes the any repairs required we pay for.

Florence 20-Oct-2006 16:52

Gosh Jeff this could be an expensive trip. You should let me and Redruth supply your batteries. They're usually "one careful owner" Ah look progress! Now all i need to do is get people's names etc... right i.e. 749Er sorry I missed your E.

Redruth 20-Oct-2006 16:55

Fantastic board name SB. I would be providing new batteries though, not used ones. Welcome to the board. You should be getting the drinks in, you know. I'd like a Kier Royal please :)

Florence 20-Oct-2006 17:00

Is that smutty?? That went over my head. A bit like doogalman when I catch him. Mind you it's easy with his gammy leg poor old S*d  I'm sure him and Jeff just play at "being at work" :o When Doogalman gets home, I will have to get him to sort me an Avatar. Perhaps a picture of Florence. Not the City

What on earth is "Kier Royal"? sounds like a potato to me:)

Florence 20-Oct-2006 17:08

Ah! just realised Kier Royal isn't that Champagne & black currant (actually I cheated, I asked James T) ;) Yes Jeff in my case one lady owner but in yours?? :frog: Actually I am just sipping a nice glass of the Austrian. I started to put another sentence about smoot and creamy tastes but it kinda looked a bit dodgy!!

Couple of tips about this board as I can see you need to get with the program if you're going to post on this site.

Unwritten rules of posting on the board

1. Assume everything is smutty unless it is extremely grave. Even then, look for smutty inuendo just to be sure.
2. People who are actually very good friends with each other in real life, can seem like mortal enemies on here. Ignore it. They'll be falling over drunk together the next time they meet up.
3. If you start a thread, expect comments that are absolutely nothing to do with it to appear instantaneously.
4. Don't be deterred by people criticising you or taking the P!ss. The ones that are seriously cruel to women on this site get batted out of existence by the good guys on here.
5. Post whatever you like whenever you feel like it. There's always someone awake and interested.

Good luck. I've finished that drink. Please may I have a straight champagne now.

It's cassis actually. I don't think that's quite the same as blackcurrant. And doesn't it have an alcohol content? I hope so, because that's why I drink it.

Florence 20-Oct-2006 17:13

Expensive taste thanx for the tip. I'll give as good as I get. Doogalman knows how good I can be :p
