Oh what a night...

Well, the Dinner Dance was fantastic, big well done to Chris Woods for organising most of it and staying up allllll night to make sure we all had fun ;)

Highlights had to be a drunken Fil2 heckling the trophy givers, a drunken TP having a 'debate' with Mr Ducati UK (beautiful bike by the way) and just everyone looking absolutely gorgeous (and a bit tipsy!) and having an excellent time :D

Anyone for a New Years Eve do? ;)

Nearly forgot...it's Fil2's Birthday today too, so I hope he's feeling well enough to enjoy it! 40 eh? Never would have guessed ;)

Iconic944ss 29-Oct-2006 15:40

Good - I did wonder how the party was going while I enjoyed my 13 hour nightshift

But enough of that, reports and pics asap please !!!!

Twas a great night indeed and capped off with a hungover viewing session of the Moto GP this afternoon.

Really good of Chris to arrange all this and even provide us with an extra hour's drinking/recovery time. ;)

Thanks Chris, that was great ... and thanks to everyone who made it a really cool night :)

andys 900ss 29-Oct-2006 19:13

Yep, great night....

Good to catch up with everyone, although the extra JD's towards the end of the night took their toll this am.

Well done Chris!

Andy

Twinfan 29-Oct-2006 19:13

Yep, cheers to everyone for a top night.

And thanks to TP for recognising me and saying hello ;)

domski 29-Oct-2006 19:43

Yeap, fantastic night!!!

Thanks to Chris 'G.A.Y.' Wood (you're more like an 8.5) for the impeccible organisation and great venue.

It was great to see everyone again. Is it March yet?

Fordie 29-Oct-2006 19:59

Indeed it was, still suffering from to much alcohol in the blood and sleep deprivation. Excellant hotel and facilities and the meal more than i expected.
Great to see so many DSC members out having a great time together and its thanks to Chris Woods for bringing it on. The MC for the night was our very own Jools, who did a great job keeping proceeding's on the right track with out to much hasle from the seated mob spread before him. Tim Mc from Ducati UK gave us a good question/answers speech and was the only person to arrive riding one of the new GT1000, thats a nice looking bike .
It was good to see the DD boys get there justly deserved trophy's as well as the various other awards presented on the night
I was taken aback when I myself was presented with the Paul Mort Award some thing that means a great deal to me and i feel honoured to have recieved it, especially surrounded by such lovely appreciated people . I like to think that would bring a smile to Pauls face, where ever he is.
A few pics of the top boys from DD They won em this years its open house for next year.

Yes. Thanks Chris for a very well organised and enjoyable evening. The award pictures look great. Well done Fordie. Where's the one Kelly took of you getting the Paul Mort award? And the one of Annette accepting Andy's award?

Lovely evening, some excellent company, good food, a nice venue and great fun today watching the MotoGP with the gang. Jools, you were a great MC. Tim did a great job with the speech, but should have chosen the melon not the soup because the melon was cold to start with :D

And well done for organising the raffle. I was well chuffed with all that oil and the contact lens cleaner. ;) I've only ever one one prize in the raffle and that was a bottle of cider in a church raffle when I was about 12 so my Mum 'confiscated' it

kye 29-Oct-2006 23:03

Judging by his suit, has Fil finally come out then?

Grib 30-Oct-2006 07:29

Nah, Fil's only about a 5 ;)

Starting to feel human again now, felt like poo just about Moto GP time and missed most of it dozing on the sofa! Cracking night, lets go out next weekend too :D

Ha! Ruth!! After our conversation at the start of the evening, I'm rather amused that you chose the erm 'oil' ...... Full details later please

nelly 30-Oct-2006 09:32

Top night :) I have a feeling there's been a day gone by between then and now but i'm at a loss to as where it went ;)
Congratualtions to the award winners, especially Fordie. Right award for all the right reasons!!

Best get in training for next years now...............

Well, you know my BHCN boys like me to be well lubed up ;)

Actually, I was out of the room when I won that prize - the choices left were oil and the cartoon drawing of Sete Gibernau, so no competition really.

Hi all, just a quick note to say thanks for being invited to the Dinner Dance. Mark and Nigel are in the office today and both say they enjoyed the evening too.

Good company, good fun.... and a great ride home via Market Harborough and Melton Mowbray in the sunshine.

Cheers

Tim Maccabee

Grib 30-Oct-2006 11:02

Yes, very nice to see Ducati UK in attendance. You were lucky to get that bike out of the place without half of it missing, judging by the way the DD boys were eyeing it up  Impressive that you were the only attendee to ride there, Tim. Glad you had a fun ride home.

Redruth 30-Oct-2006 13:04

Yes Graham. That car of Helen's is amazing. And she knows how to drive it. I loved it. Thank her again for me, will you? :D

Now, if I sold all 3 bikes, and re-mortgaged the house, and moved out of Hemel to somewhere that it's safe to keep an Aston Martin DB7, I'd be seriously thinking I NEED ONE

MJS 30-Oct-2006 16:30

Finally found this thread.....

Anyway, just wanted to add my thanks to everyone who helped make it such a good night. Nice to meet and share a table with Mark and Nigel from DUK, two guys who obviously have the best jobs in the country...!

Cheers
Martin
