OPERATION Number 10!!888 SP5 For sale??

3 Attachment(s)
After debating the selling of the SP5 due to the tearing of my bicep muscle and shoulder muscles,i have just had operation number 10 to try and stop the shoulder dislocating and get some strength back in my right arm.

The way it currently feels, suggests there could be an SP5 on the market.:(

Thanks for the support from those that new of the op!!

And yes it really is as sore as it looks, especially where it goes under my armpit!!

Red-Duc 03-Nov-2006 17:07

ouch
was that from a bike accident

Jasper 03-Nov-2006 17:09

Yes,20 years ago!!.Dislocated it.Never been right since.

Red-Duc 03-Nov-2006 17:13

Hope its ok this time then, shame if you gotta sell the bike though

Jools 03-Nov-2006 17:15

Have a bit of faith in the quacks mate, let the operation bruising go down and then give it a good old while to heal...

....at least until I've saved enough for the SP5

Rob B 03-Nov-2006 17:16

Rich,

That looks nasty. I hope you're finally on the road to a full recovery now, though. As for the bike. Don't do anything rash. Keep it, you can always ride it in a few months or a years time. You know how difficult they are to find....

All the best,

Rob

Rattler 03-Nov-2006 18:18

Ouch - that does look painful!!! Take it easy fella - and keep the bike!!!

Lily 03-Nov-2006 18:24

ignore them all...it will never heal, in fact it looks like you might have have it off if i am honest....

but don't worry, i will make sure that the bike is looked after :D

seriously though mister looks sore, but I have very close experience to suggest that these ops can work so fingers crossed it will start to get better and you will be ready for riding in the new year. I mean honestly, who can i take the **** out of if you aren't there :p

YMFB 03-Nov-2006 18:39

arrrrgh that looks sore, you should have asked for a 1/4" bsp grease nipple to be inserted to keep it lubricated !

I had a really minor OP a few weeks ago, surgeon told me Id be OK to play squash in a week, it actually took four weeks but OK now so keep the faith, its a bad time to sell anyway so no need for hasty decisions

Thanks fro the support guys(except you Lily!!;)),just feeling down at the Mo.

What you need to realise is,this is the 10th op like this that i've had(this is the previous),and they haven't been succesful. So i am looking at being relisted, rather than optimistic.Although, the Spagheti is away being polished at the moment!!

She is a big old brute, which is why i trailored it to RTL,i new i couldn't do the ride up there AND the ride out.100-150m is my limit, then i potentially become a danger to myself and others. That is not what i want.

We shall see what happens in the new year, but those wanting an SP5,it COULD be your lucky year in 2007!!

Not forgetting i had two ops on my elbow(3rd in the next 8-10 weeks!!) in september /november of last year.

Davieravie 03-Nov-2006 19:03

Get a grip man......Ive had worse injuries sanding floorboards! :( ;)

I know how much pain yopu were in (it seem to recede though the more you drank) at RTL ;) ......here's to a speedy recovery and hope the bike stays with you......I know how much care and attention you've put into her. She is a bute!!!!! A one of!!!!

Jasper 03-Nov-2006 20:09

Thanks Davie.I wasn't drunk, the last pint was "off"!!

Jasper, don't you dare sell the bike, Paul is going to come up to the fast group on the next track day, & needs someone who is faster than him to show him the way;) :)

Cheer up mate, it will get better:)

gary-g 04-Nov-2006 19:32

Having spoken to Rich a few times about his numerous visits to various doctors and operating tables to try and get this problem sorted once and for all and without bits of bone ineptly left in joints etc I can see why he has very little faith in it being right, but hang in there mate....

Miracles do happen.......

It looks like very early days and unless the doc has told you something that you aint told us, there is hope that you can regain some strength enough to ride the old SP5 again......Keep at it and the physio. Fingers crossed 4 U.

Best wishes Rich.
