Not quite out of DD yet....

As my wonderful plan has just come together, I've sold my 600SS and just bought a new road machine, this way I can get a better paid job where I'm not limited to it being within walking distance of my house, and afford to save up as much as I can for DD next year hopefully

My trusty new steed shall be picked up sometime next week hopefully...

When we sign up where do we reserve our race numbers? Or we having a thread on it like last season I think it was wasn't it?

TP 04-Nov-2006 21:22

Wahey!

Well done mate, never say never :D

kye 04-Nov-2006 21:50

Still the small matter of how the **** I'm going to afford entries and trackdays, so if anyone needs a website doing I'm a capable person :D

Still, I've got a lot of learning to do too, only time I've rode a Monster is around the block on Kirstys when she got it, along with monged up lowered/softened suspension, not a brilliant first impretion of Ducati's famous handling, can anyone compare them to the SS?

Monty 05-Nov-2006 13:46

Being on a monster didn't seem to slow Dominic up too much this year did it??
The chassis is based on a 888 so it can be made to handle.

One can make a decent job of being a race bike, the other is fine for boulevard posing.

And before anyone sets the UKMOC on me, I've ridden both - which is why I'm racing an SS.

There, that's my November posting finished, see you all in December.

Run and hide!

Dare I mention that this years Class A championship was won by a Monster?

And I'm not talking about the rider :p

And will be next year as well ;)

kye 05-Nov-2006 19:23

Well hopefully I'll meld with it a little on the road and pick up at the start of the season where I left off, I've got some unfinished business at Cadwell now!

Anyone got some popular mods for them? Any bits I can pick up a bit cheaper compared to SS's, don't 916 shocks fit? I'll be slapping on some cheap clip-ons, a ride height adjuster to the loop is it?, is the 916 fairing kit the same as the SS, just bolt on the 916 subframe at the front and it's practically in position?

Don't quite know how much I can do it to yet, I've got some supermarkets to apply at first! (I'm still looking for sponsors if anyone reads this lol, PM me for good advertising deals :D)

paynep 05-Nov-2006 19:52

Anyone notice that the bike in the pic is an early Monster, so the suspension is significantly different from the Class A ones.....?

Damn, that's Decembers post used

Paul here's a class A 620 with older chassis :D:D

kye 05-Nov-2006 20:51

The early early ones run the SS forks still though, yours has the later 65mm mount ones

Can I ditch the Twin pipes and run a Single pipe using 600SS pipework? I can't afford 2 race cans lol... although I could just chop the stock ones at college
