749R Upgrades Apologies if this is covered elswhere but still trying to find my way around the site - at some future time I'm looking to 'beef' up my 749R (used mainly for track days now) and wondered if any members had been down this route and evaluated the best options. I still love what I have and don't want to create a completely unreliable over-tuned lump. Any info, way to go, highly thought of tuners etc greatly appreciated. |
Hi, welcome aboard, may I be the first to commend you on your choice of steed ! mine's a tequila, vodka, redbull please sure s'one will be along soon to answer your question G |

Cheers - bought it 2005, a year old at that time. Pic shows it in track bodywork. Previously had ST4, then Briefly ST4S before falling completely for the 749 when I got the chance to have it - and I guess you all know how the familiar pattern - now completely pre-occupied with all things Ducati ! |
impeccable taste my friend..welcome!! |

Have a chat with JHP or dare I say Butch if the MT haven't deleted all of his posts as he's had the full monty done there you can get around 140HP out of the 749R lumpy reliably just more service intervals if you really want to go the whole hog |

Hi - thanks a lot for a sensible/helpful reply, appreciate it. |
Hi and welcome  Have you checked the racing kit sold by DP? And what kind of mods/aftermarket stuff do you have installed already? |
There is/was a comprehensive kit available from Ducati which gave up about 140bhp. Not cheap though. You can also go the big bore route using 100mm pistons. Exhausts, cams etc. are all available to. JHP have a wealth of knowledge from the supersport racing they do. Worth a call. Decide a budget first would be my advice ;) |
