ducati sportingclub members in derbyshire

hi all.
are there any members who live near or around the derbyshire area, i noticed a few went to the powersports open day at clay cross.. the reason being i always see other ducati riders around derbyshire. but never seem to be a member of ducati owners clubs. be good to all meet up when the weather pics up again....go out riding with people with good taste in bikes and not the usual crew with there jap shite, me being the only ducati rider with them, to be tormented and called tractor boy all the time. funny but.......annoying

Steve M 20-Nov-2006 13:29

Hi Mate

Depending where you are in Derby's there are 2 or 3 monthly meets to chose from. There is us lot (the NW region - we meet in Congleton once a month) or the Notts mobb and there is a Midland branch startimg I think. There is a list of regional contacts in here -

Dukerob 20-Nov-2006 13:30

Hi there
Probably the most local DSC meet is the Notts group, meeting second Tuesday of every month at the Unicorn at Gunthorpe near Nottingham. Rushjob is the regional organiser so you could U2U him, or drop in at Cornerspeed in Kirkby In Ashfield on a Saturday, thats the other regular meeting place. Oh yeah there's a christmas do in Nottingham on Fri 1 Dec too which unfortunately I can't make :(

bigtwin 21-Nov-2006 19:28

Hi,

Was living near Ripley until recently. Still only 30 mins from Ripley and only 45 mins from Matlock :D

I went up to the clay cross ducati open day, red 749R and I wear a black simpson. Spoke to a few people, not sure if you were one of them.

More than happy to meet up when the weather is warm and a little dryer.

Chief R.B. 29-Nov-2006 21:23

Hi mate, as Griff says, I live in derby too - Alvaston. Seen a few dukes around and know one or two, met up with the notts lads once or twice and at powersports open day. Is yours a yellow 749 i saw on raynesway a couple of months back?

Be happy to meet up
Cheers

Ant

Hi Si
Welcome to the board. Its usual to get the drinks in so as its new year and everyone else is detoxing I'll have half a JD in a pint glass with a large coke :D
I'm in Mansfield and quite a few of the Notts mob are around here too. Rushjob (regional organiser) is in Worksop. I reckon we should hook up with the Derbyshire mob in spring.
If you're at loose end any Sat call in at Cornerspeed for a coffee, its always full of other DSC members on Saturdays. (http://www.cornerspeed.co.uk/ for directions)

Dukerob 11-Jan-2007 20:27

oh its your 4th post missed that! Still any excuse for a free drink :D

Chief R.B. 11-Jan-2007 20:46

Hello Si, welcome to the forum mate, some of us are getting together in the spring for a hoon around (and maybe meet up with Notts lads?) be good to meet up and say hi! I'll have a very cold Hoegarden while your at the bar

Cheers!

Ant

Si W 11-Jan-2007 21:09

Cheers guys and I've always got chilled Hoegarden served in iced glasses the way it should be so feel free to pop in anytime. May even find some JD but no soft drinks.

I was in Nellys place last Saturday and will probably call this saturday to drop my wheels in for coating. He's a good guy and its people like him that have turned me from hating the Duke when I first got it to being obsessed by it now. Does anyone know the owner of the 749 who lives at the Hardwick Inn?

Si

Si W 11-Jan-2007 21:12

Forgot to ask, any of you off to Guadix? I booked two seats on the plane and now the Mrs can't go so I've a spare for anyone wanting to go with on 22nd to 24th.

I prefer Yorkshire than Derbyshire. Yorkshire is so upmarket and afluent compared to Derbyshire...................IMHO!

I went to Buxton once but it was closed.
