Gonna do a little service on my 996 Hodgy..

Nothing fancy, just oil,filter,plugs...

Can you pick up the filter and sealer washers for the drain plug and pick up filter from somewhere like Halfords?

Or is it a trip to a Ducati parts place?

TIA

VDM

Pretty standard item to have in at the dealer, so would go there first.

VanDaMauler 20-Nov-2006 14:42

Halfords is nearer and open later though...So the easier option..

mail order from a dealer or service centre?

Some dealers do post free or 10% off for members, sorted from comfort of yer club chair.

No need to even cross the threshold at Halfords, unless you wanna buy some Horsepower in the Ripspeed section, I'd recomend a Billet gear knob or maybe some neons for a 50 Horsepower hop up:lol:

Ray.

Halford will have the filter, oil and plugs but they wont have the crush washers.

Surely they`ll have a pack of assorted washers?

I`ll have a little look tonight on the way home..

rockhopper 21-Nov-2006 11:53

They are special aluminium ones, two different sizes as well.

rockhopper 21-Nov-2006 13:03

Actually, they're not: they're only pence IIRC.

Worth going to your local dealer and buying a little stock of oil filters and crush washers. They're cheap enough, so it's a waste to make a special journey every time.

Sounds like a good plan...

But I`m working 6 day weeks untill new year and Ducati service places aint open sundays...

Hence, Halfords being easier, Mad Idea though, thinking Halfords would have anything for a Duke...

But you should always explore the easy options first...

just get on the phone and they will send it through to your door

Now with all the official Ducati Franchises closed down, anyone got a number for a service centre?

Cornerspeed perhaps? do the mail stuff out?

keefer 21-Nov-2006 14:06

he will do it
if not Rapido in Winchester
http://www.motorapido.co.uk/
or Snells in Alton

VanDaMauler 21-Nov-2006 14:12

Cheers mate...

Just getting the bits in, so the bikes all sorted for spain..

How about a brand new set of clutch plates for £50, bargain price, just got em off Ebay..:D

Need some new tyres to chuck in the crate, when it goes out to spain..

And I just remembered Metropolis in Vauxhall are a Ducati dealer now , quick call and they got all the bits...Loverly!!!!
