I want to Bling my Clutch I plan to fit a open clutch cover with an anodised clutch plate to my 748R this winter, any recommendations on what & where to buy ? Also is it much work to fit ? |
Give Neil a ring at Cornerspeed, he does these tasty items from Speedy Moto:) http://secure.speedymoto.com/Merchan...ory_Co de=CPP http://www.cornerspeed.co.uk/ Chris:burn: |
Not much work at all, and as it happens, I have a clutch cover, red pressure plate, and red spring caps I want to get rid of! PM me if you're interested. |
as much as it pains me, I have to recommend the kit consisting of open clutch cover/clutch plate and springs that JHP sell.It fitted nicely and I even managed to do it myself ( that's a bigger feat that I can describe! ) |
dead easy - takes less than 5 minutes. 10 minutes if you get tempted to pull out all the plates and wipe the dust out. 20 minutes if you have a cup of tea as well. |
1 Attachment(s) Clutch Bling!!! |
I'm certain Tony (TP) has a new and unused Speedymoto open clutch cover for sale, send him a PM. RD |
Hi, This isn't a business.....I do this for FUN but if you send me your clutch housing (outer engine cover ) i can rework it to match my works corsa cover for £30 plus p+p. I did this to my own cover, but then bought a "works magnesium corsa part" I am a craftsman and if i do say so myself i couldn't tell the difference.....apart from the weight! P.M me if your interested, This goes for anybody on the list. I also know where you can get the correct shade of green or "baby **** yellow" paint! to match the works bike of the year of your bike. No vat he doesn't need to know. Steve P.S. this's not the outer cover but the main cutch housing! |

1 Attachment(s) My clutch bling on my old 749s, not everyones cup of tea and most will say the carbon gives no protection in a spill .... but I like it. |
don't forget to mention when ordering that you have a 748R. the slipper clutch takes a different pressure plate without the teeth on the back. other than that, the springs and cover are the same. oh yeah, speedy moto gear is really good kit. |
Hi khu996, I'll get my wife to take some pictures and try to work out how to put them up on here. Steve |
Here's The Piccie's 5 Attachment(s) Here's The Pictures Of My Re-worked Clutch Housing As Promised. Steve |
Hi, so what do you lads think?....It's not very shiney, but "works" housing, STM Slipper clutch, s/steel springs, MPL Titanium faced basket, alloy kevlar plates and "works" RS 996 steel outer cover!.......Not the flashest looking set-up but it works:) Steve PS, Not to mention the works/corsa 926cc (888) carbon footrests!!! |
That last picture has everything in it, all it needs is Myleeeene, in her bikini, in the shot:D :D |

Hi Does anyone know Steve or have any contact details for him? I have been emailing him to discuss getting this done but with no response yet? Cheers Chris |
Hello cl0nd0n try sending Mr.R a PM, i just did;) regards TopiToo |
Whatever you do don`t go for the tarts handbag Gold look! May one be so bold as to suggest a D.P clutch cover with a red presure plate and S/S spring caps with socket head cap screws, or a good equivalent such as JHP. |
