And the winner is... DD sponsorship for 2007

After much deliberation I have chosen the people for sponsoring in next years DD racing:

Tonio and TP

And a little bit for Dseered aswell (but only a little bit!).

Good luck to them all for next year!

I am still working on that national company aswell for sponsorship so all those I contacted and got replies from hang in there as it is not definitely a dead duck yet.....

TP 01-Dec-2006 12:19

Thanks very much Paul, I'm very appreciative of your support :)

Hopefully I'll be able to go out and bag you some decent results for your contributions.

You're a star :)

Tonio600 01-Dec-2006 12:28

Cheers Paul, you already know how happy I am about that :)

Have you ever heard the saying "better trust the French than the Aussie for bagging decent results"?

Thanks so much mate!

domski 01-Dec-2006 12:32

Nice one Paul, someone has to help the 'minorities' ;)

TP, you owe me a beer (for no reason)

:D

Don't we all do that?

I certainly spend every penny I earn and borrow even more money so I can go racing - and I do bugger all else (spending money on other things I mean).

So am I a 'privateer' as well?

How are we defining this?

paynep 01-Dec-2006 14:19

Someone without logos on their leathers?

Just because you get assistance gratefully received i might add, does not mean as dom points out that you are sitting pretty...!!...many of us are sitting on a pile of debt due to racing.

TP 01-Dec-2006 14:30

Hrmm .. I hope this doesn't turn into a whinge about sponsorship?

Me neither TP....

AS sponsorship for what ever reason..maybe commercial. maybe personal...is a great asset to the DD ,all club racing really !! and many people would find it alot harder to race without it.

So whoever gets sponsorship from what ever source, in any form ...its something to be thankfull for......

paynep 01-Dec-2006 14:33

Whinging on this forum..........perish the thought

What I need is sponsorship of a van, so that I can go and collect all the parts that I'm having fettled/polished/painted/reworked and then take them to someone to put together for me.

Only then will I feel that I'm in the true spirit of Class A......... ;-)

I'll sponsor you a tin of Mr Sheen!

Can't have any scruff bags in Gucci racing!!

:frog:

couchcommando 01-Dec-2006 14:49

What is amazing is the amount of dealer/owner prepped bikes and the amount of riders having a bike supplied. It's just not seen in other normal club racing series, also the generous level of sponsorship from ozz and others like him just isn't seen.
I guess it's because the whole club want to go racing and is one of the massive benefits of a club run series.

skidlids 01-Dec-2006 14:52

Sponsorship--When I'm good enough to deserve some I may ask, until then I'll keep spending my own money on my own hobbies, 2007 will be my 9th year of club racing and I can say any debt I have is not down to the racing, until I got in to Ducati ownership about 5 years ago I didn't have any debt, this did coincide with me sponsoring somebody at the TT for 2002, 2003 and 2004 with the 2004 TT costing me enough to run 2 seasons in DD.

I would rather see sponsorship funds going into prizes like best Class Novice/Newcomer and other such things as this helps attract new blood to the series which is essential for the continuation of DD.
Glyns Sponsorship of Class B last year was fantastic as was the idea behind Dickies prize in 2005 with Lin a well deserved winner.

You are well ahead of me, both my bikes are untouched from their last outing at Cadwell, if i'm luck I will get the garage sorted and finished before the end of February so that I can at least get on and do a oil and filter change.

TP 01-Dec-2006 14:56

I'll sponsor Paul a haircut at Tony & Guy!

Maybe VanDaMauler shold sponsor all Class A riders with 'do's' :D

Certainly the reason I do it is that I love racing and wish I was good/young enough to do it myself!

The sponsorship choice is not based purely on a commercial thought as I frankly do not care if I get new clients from it! Although if the taxman asks then I did do a thorough investigation of investment potential before claiming it as advertising!
