Getting rid of telesales calls
 

I got a call today from some guy who sounded thick as 2 short planks trying to sell me a new telephone system.

I informed him over the telephone that we didn't use telephones.

He said thanks, sorry to bother you and good bye.

Just as i put the phone down i heard the penny drop and him mumble, "Eh, what!"

Telepathy is the way forward, free to ..., no need to know the number who you are ......., never engaged and you always get an imediate answer.:eek: :D

Tried it once, didnt work, turns out im telepathetic :D

We've got our phone set on 2 rings and then the ansa phone kicks in. If it's a legit' call then we pick up as soon as we recognise the voice. If not we leave it, or more usually the caller rings off without leaving a message.
Get number withheld block, that cuts 90% of the sales calls out straight away.
We've got just about a 100% success rate on binning sales and other calls.

Damn trying to find that funny video (only sound) where the bloke in US gets a call and tapes it while pretending to be a cop investigating a murder. It was like a radio show they were playing it on. Bum where is it now.

Yes, we do that. Works a treat.

On the rare occasions a cold caller gets thru I tell them that I am interested then ask them to "hold on a minute". I then gently lay the phone down on the table, walk away and get on with whatever I was doing before they interrupted me. Ages later I put the phone back on the hook. One day I must try to find out how long they hang on for............

Bugger! That's the one I was gonna tell you about. I usually put the phone under a cushion on the sofa and call out to the wife "we got another one!" I get a real kick out of it and actually enjoy it and now actually look forward to the cold calls, especially the ones from the Calcutta call centre.

I know... I gotta get out more.
