Mav,

Most of the problems we are experiencing seem to be down to the service providers and not the website software.

Your first error message tends to point to the provider (again) but someone else could be having a different problem so I feel its always worthwhile asking.

Cheers - Frank

monstermob 998 18-Dec-2006 22:25

frank - i got the message "gateway timeout" whatever that means-hope that helps - i builds houses not websites:D

Yep, that can be arranged :D

>>>

As an aside its worthwhile keeping an eye on what your own service providers are up to.

I'm with NTLworld and often have to reboot the cable modem as it locks up every other month or so however, they also have a status page to let users know to expect something might be happening:

http://www.ntl-isp.ntl.com/ServiceStatus/

Your own provider might provide something similar.

Cheers - Frank

NB - For the techy amongst you here is a gem for sometimes speeding up website access:

I seem to have experienced more problems since I down loaded ie7 than I did before and mostly with other websites

Iconic944ss 19-Dec-2006 00:24

one word.....FIREFOX

:)

Lily 19-Dec-2006 07:14

Frank
I was able to connect intermitently but it would then play silly buggers with me and the headings would move around and it would time out etc.

rcgbob44 19-Dec-2006 08:51

I did "NOT" eat all the pies!

Frank,

I don't fancy watching an old Clint Eastwood film, especially at a time like this, my PC needs a medic. ;)

As a professional geek that works in the Micro****e space along with my team at work I thought I'd let you know that not a single one of us runs IE7 :)
