Cheers Mr Dibbs !!!!!! Would be more if the sun came out!! Roll on summer. |

Got it august last year from a born again biker..... He lived at the isle of wigget !!!! His last bike was a yamaha 500 ypvs 16 years ago,He only done 400 miles.... He paid £15850 with a few bits on it from 3x in ringwood,Gave him £11400.... got on the ferry and rode home with a big grin :lol: |

....ouch!! But that's Ducati for you :D:D |
I remember those 'its still in warranty' days very well. Whats more frustrating is that half the time it was some spotty little yoof apprentice doing the work supervised:o Just to rub salt in the wound (and I dont mind doing this if you only coughed up £11.4k!!!!!), a quality independent has collected my 888, is keeping it for the week for a major service, checking the alternator nut, and all sorts of other stuff, then redelivering it..all for under £400!!! (and he also greases up electrical connectors and all sorts...try getting that at your local ducati dealership!!). Nat. |
The most annoying thing of all is that I can service my own bikes ( and a million times better than any dealer I have ever dealt with ) but I need that poxy Ducati stamp to cover me for the warranty !!!! I just don't trust dealers.... Last new new bike I had, I ended up redoing the PDI as I found all sorts of loose nuts and non lubed bits and pieces:mad: [Edited on 5-3-2004 by dave w] |
Be thankful. My 12 month/6,000 mile service cost £820.22 inc VAT, although this does include a new front tyre, plus belts .... :o |
If this is the first annual service (ie 6,000) I have been lead to believe by my dealer it is possible to get what is termed a "short service" and still be within the rules of warranty on such a low mielage machine. Basically it is the service minus the valve clearance checks which are actually mileage dependant (providing they aren't 1,200 track miles) and should be done at 6,000 miles. For this short service on my 999s I recently paid £156.00 (but provided my own oil 'cos Im fussy.) |
Whats the record here on a service bill then :o When I bought the 888. its last service bill from Baines was £1140..without tyres!!! Bank loan territory that ... no wonder were an exclusive marque !!! Nat |
service dave there not cheap these dukes, but the not jap;) i,m with u on servicing your self, bunch a retards in some of these shops:cool::biaggi::roll: |
Well, the 999 is booked into 3 Cross for service on 18th, have managed to negotiate a good deal cause my mates 999 is also due same service at same time. Both bikes go in together and they are not doing the valve clearances on both bikes ( due to mileages ) |
