Suspension Revalve May have been covered before Would like to get the front forks revalved/resprug and a new rear shock fitted to the bike for road and "occasional" (light term) track use. Do the mods make much difference or can the standard settings be tweeked to offer as good a setting. |
Have full Ohlins in my Showa legs / the difference is an awful lot ! One word of warning , make sure you have some one to help you set them up as it might not be a case of one or two clicks either way like me (took me months ) I got my bike set up for the local (bad ) roads ,as i am on them far more than the track ! Had mine done by KAIS.Ohlins springs and set up-superb. |
As has been said. Get it done by someone who knows what they're doing. K-Tech - KAIS etc....... You'll deffo feel the difference. |
I Had my 748r done by Kais a few months after i bought it new early last year. I could not believe how it could be worse with Ohlins than my old 748bp on showa. Within 30 yards of leaving Kais's place, (they have a very bumpy forcourt) i knew i had spent my money wisely. It makes a big difference and is well worth it. |
What are the costs involved in new internals etc? |
I had new springs front and rear, re valve front. New oil both ends, adjust internal damping rear. Set up to suit me for £400. Took most of the day. |
£200 for me. |
Maxton did my st4s, cost just over £400 and was well worth it. I use mine more for the road and only done a couple of track days (pre revalving). I'd always say spend money on suspension first before engine mods IMHO. |
have phoned K-tech and they charge £180 + Vat for a fork revalve etc.so The forks are going there way in april will report back when i refit them |
Full Ohlins in my forks £300 ! |
