power commander or cpu bought 102db kit for 999 with filters and cpu,, don't know whether to use chip(cpu) or buy power commander and set that up on dyno,, heard good things about it!!!? heard a few bad stories with swapping cpu's. can anyone give me any advice..:saint: |
I think you will have to fit the cpu anyway, then also get further benefits from a PC. PC111 usb is the one to go for.....so im told. Unles you have an R then theres no map as yet, unless you have it created. PC told me theres no support from them yet for PC111usb on the R...bugger |
I fitted a set of 57's with the DP supplied ECU - its not just a chip swap like earlier models its the whole "brain". I found the DP ECU fueled ok but not perfect. If you fit it yourself do not forget to re-attach the black wire under the head of one of the ECU mounting bolts. I have since had a PC fitted aswell and this has improved things significantly. If you don't want to fit a PC to trim the DP ECU you can buy a Corse ECU to replace the DP item which is modifiable, but will cost around £800. FIM hope to have their replacement ECU available later this year which is a further option. |
just found out pc111usb for 999 will work straight of original cpu,, think this will be the way to go,,, got to finish runnig in before they ring its neck on rolling road.... |
Just spoken to Steve at Moto Rapido and he's going to fit me a PC. It's programmed with a John Hackett map for the 999R and should get another 6-8 bhp. I'm more interested in smoothing out the torque curve as it's up and down like a *****'s draws. I'll keep you posted. |
does this mean if i buy a pc111usb form US(half price to uk) I could get it programmed to jhp fuelling map? |
half price in usa.. thats interesting,, who will you use? |

Give me a ring sometime tomorrow on my mobile..........I just U2U it to you. Dave |
have a look at www.kyleusa.com |
guys how much is the pc 111 in the uk , over here in germany they go for 315 euro about 210 brit pounds is that better or worse than the usa |
PC III is the way to go. i just had one fitted to my F4 and it picked up 8.3 bhp at the wheel and its super smooth also it comes unmapped like your 'r' version - all u need is a clued up dyno guy with the latest software and your there, a map for your indvidual bike ! then get it home plug the thing into your computer and you can download the settings so if you get it remapped with say different cans on u can swap the maps yourself cost is about £285 for the pc and about £100 dyno time |
$285 + around $20 shipping. |
jeezz im glad i left blighty years ago "rip off UK " still hasnt changed then........ |
$300 ... exchange rate of 1.82 dollar to pound = £165 delivered!! |
when do we order.................................. |
thanks andyb.. just took plunge and got pc111 on order from http://www.kyleusa.com/ can't believe got it for the same amount in us dollars as we pay in pounds over here!!! that's what swung it for me!! owe you a beer !! |
The only problem I can see in buying these from the USA is that they run on 110V & we run on 220-240V. Won't that cause a problem ;););) Good night :D |
bikes are still 12v... set up is straight from usb on computer.. |
got termis, filter, ecu and pc111 fitted going into imc (crediton) monday for dyno set up.. let you know how i get on...:) |
got bike back from imc (dyno) suprised at results.. read in mcn about manufacturers "claimed" power / torque.. a little true for ducati.... definately recommend using pc 111 with kit.. really does fine tune ecu supplied.. got a much better curve and a couple of ft-lbs torque better.. now get 121 at back wheel. doesn't sound a great deal... be interested to know what it is stock !! had a great ride back-- much better power delivery.. also sounds the way that a ducati should sound like.. |
chris what is your bike? 999, 999s etc? |
999bip with Termis and DP ecu. Dyno'd 120bhp at back wheel. Not that I'd know it, I probably only use 60 of em  |
999 bip dp filters termis dp race ecu pc 111 |
Got one on order today...... sooper dooper deal £245 brand new from my good old mate giles from HPS..... Let's just hope it all works ok. |
nearly got thrown off yesterday. gave bike a gentle wash and decided to go for a blat, felt a split second change in response then as down shifting approaching bend-engine dead-wheel lock... caught it in time. could not restart, tried fuses etc. unpluggeg pc111 cable and replugged normal wiring- fired up straight away.. at home took a closer look at pc111, cap on usb connection not that good-allowed water in to pc111, dried it all out-works fine again now. to prevent this again have put a liberal seal over caps using silicant sealant---water proof now!!!:o |
I've just ordered a PCIIIusb from Dan Kyle too after my brother in law got one from him for his Mille. Price $279 He's also supplying me the new Power Commander Quickshifter for $264 (£151!!!!) All in all a PC & a shifter for about £300! You can't even find a decent shifter for that in the UK. |
