Can anyone help please? I'm looking for an indoor cover for the Duc and I remember seeing an advert for a framed clear plastic structure that came with a cannister which absorbed the moisture inside the 'cover'. You could recharge the cannister by sticking it in the oven and baking it every now and then. I've been through all my old bike mags and can I find it  Does anyone else remember this product and can you you supply contact details? Thanks for any help :D |
Make your own with duct tape, plastic sheet and a container of silica gel. http://www.geejaychemicals.co.uk/usi...0GEL%20SACHETS. |
Ducati do their own in the parts books..... bet youll need a mortgage with it? |
Shazaam - thank you, you are a ST*R as always Andy - £340 plus I haven't got electricity in my lock-up so its a non starter [Edited on 4-4-2004 by Henners] |
I looked into doing something similar a couple years age, when I had a damp garage. Move house since, so no longer a problem. I did find a webiste that sold this. Essentially it's a very large plastic bag, some strong closure ties, and a bag of silica. I think it was about £30. It did work well. I'll see if I have any paperwork from that left over if you're interested, Henners. |
and there was me thinking you wanted someone to ride along next to you holding a brolly ..... |
Dibs, why? .... ... when I've got you :P Felix - know which one you mean and it isn't the one - I need one I can use all year round and basically drive into, hence the frame. Cheers for the thought. |
I believe they call that a garage, Henners! |
I remember seeing one for a metal framed 'tent' but sadly I cant remember details for hat one :( However I do have a 'vac-bag' - yep OK its just a big poly bag and a sack of dry-sorb or sillica gel - but I thought it was a great kit....heres the link... https://secure.webhoster.co.uk/www.a...vacbag/vbshop/ Happy shopping |
Henners you\'re doin it all wrong I keep my bike at work, and just get our young slave, to wash it dry it and polish it, at once a day, then he sprays it with "muc off" Bike spray, keeps it tip top no matter what i do to it. So let me know and i'll lend you my slave. |
Thanks chaps :) Yes I have used vacbags but they aren't up to being reused too often. I do have a garage but for six months of the year it's cold and damp, without electricity, and if I put the bike away wet that's the way it stays. I'll keep search. |

If you've already have a vac-bag, get yourself some plastic conduit pipes, a load of connector pieces and some PVC glue. Can't be that hard to make a frame inside a bag, can it? that's what I would try first anyways. The one sold by Ducati Performance certainly seems worth a look. |
The Ducati Performance one is indeed excellent - Stuart has one - and it will dry the bike off, however, it is electrically powered and I don't have electricity in the garage. I'll order a large vacbag and give your idea a try - cheers Felix [Edited on 5-4-2004 by Henners] |
how fars the garage from the house ???? cant you just run an extension cable down the garden ?? I have an en-bloc garage and ran a cable over the roofs and into the garage .... Also looks like Doyley has the same home set-up as Rattler .... lol |
