Abba centre stand.
 

Has anyone bought or used one of these
on there 749/999. As iam fed up fighting with my paddock stand.
If so is it easy for front /rear wheel removal.

They seem expensive but it could be the best bike tool you could buy,fitments for almost any bike.
I've got one and it does my 916,ss,rvf- my mates vfr,gsxr and hayabusa with the relevant fitting bolts.
Its also more stable than a paddock stand.

I have seen them advertised for about £90 pounds + fitments. Which if you can remove front/rear wheels, is not bad.

Got one myself for the M1000.

Just like using a centre stand. Great for rear wheel removal - but if taking out front wheel I would need to put a jack under it too.

Very stable stand, much better than my seperate front & rear ones:D

got a stand for life, all you need to do is change inserts for specific bikes--£10'ish.
got mine at ally paly £80 including inserts,,
if you can wait bet they do same deal at nec!!:)

I agree with everything that has been said.Well made and finished and rare these days to find somethig thats value for money.I can now confidently get the bike on the stand on my own without the fear of the bike falling over.
Buy one you won't regret it.

Seems to be hard finding a stockist here tho...

I ordered mine direct,when i get home i will find the address and phone number.I rang them at 3pm it was there the next day.Or do a search on google.

O.K. Who wants an Abba stand? I bought one at last years Bike show NEC. Hardly used, like new. Bought it for my 888 which I have just sold. £50 with 2 sets of inserts +p&p if interested. Otherwise I'll keep it until my next bike. I can take a digi pic if required.;)

I agree the Abba stand is a good idea, as I see it on most bikes they fit in the swinging arm spindle. On the 749-999
the swinging arm spindle has only got a very small hole in it, if the collets don't fit there where do they fit ? in the frame tubes, which is not an ideal place.:D

Yep, they do fit ok i must admit i was not sur at first if the amount of overlap on the nut (lh) was enough to hold it securely but it does even after rocking the bike.

I had the same thing happen, except I was more worried about the RHS. Maybe a little spacer inside the RHS cup, to stop the little ring disappearing inside... I emailed Abba.

Great stand tho, once you've worked out how to set it up. Solid as a rock.

why not do what it says in instructions and silicon sealant the adaptors in place..-
to stop the ring disappearing inside....

reading the manual is an admission of defeat... it's a bloke thing ;-)

here's what abba themselves had to say:

"The 999 adapter we have not had a problem with before I understand that the adapter doesn't stick out the standard cup on the stand which makes it a little harder to see when fitting the stand to the bike but when the stand is on and nipped up in its normal mode there is no problem. "
