Cleaning your BIKE

Some of the bikes on here are sooo clean, mine is never that clean no matter HOW long i spend on it. Do you have some magical cleaner ?
what does everone use and for what ?
Thanks:sing:

I use ProClean and ProDegreaser. Just discovered these products after years of doing it all the hard way (disassembling the bike and loading it in the washing machine). :P
My 999S looks really good even after 1200 miles, but there's no hope for my 750 Sport (two winters have been very unkind to it).

I swear by stuff called "MUC-OFF".

I think it was originally marketed for mountain bikes but I use it on bike/car aswell.

It's brilliant stuff - just don't leave it on for too long though.

I bought some yesterday actually from Halfrauds - they are doing a 2 for 1 promo on loads of stuff at the moment so if you are quick you should be able to take advantage.

Cheers.
Jacko.

HA HA!!!

Just noticed you are in Sweden and Halfords are probably a bit thin on the ground over there.

Sorry!!
:lol::lol:

The guys in the showroom at Ducati in Chelsea use some Honda magical polish to make them shine. Must try and get some... any suggestions?

I use Muc-Off but I'm never convinced that the polish spray stuff really stops it getting mucky again...

Crap flap on the back wheel helps lots. Anyone who hasn't got one is asking for rear shock rot...

You mean they pay you lots of money to use their product?

Yeah, that would work for me too, no matter what it was like :D

The F1 Team I work for are sponsored by West but I don't smoke!!

I use Muc off for the the plastics. and Halfords own engine cleaner for the realy oily bits not found anything to beat it.

rcgbob44 18-May-2004 19:35

I use an engine cleaner each time and a good brand name polish, oh yes and lots of effort and elbow grease.

Still looks tatty though!:smug:

castrol do a bike cleaner (found it in halfords but it must be available elsewhere) i then spray scotoil FS365 everywhere(not discs or brakes) it drives water out and neutralises the dreaded salt that stops the lovely shiny bits corroding

me too - fantastic on that tough to remove grime! And on wheels, it just sweeps away the dirt (said in a John Inman manner);)

but dont get the new ones with extra wax - they are like water and rubbish - stick to the original Mr Sheen:D

I use the little boy next door and pay him 50 pence:lol:

Mr Sheen original - liberal spray and wipe off all the crap. Great for dead flies as well. Dont do engine mate - why do you think I have a fairing?? But where I do bolts & stuff I just use WD - 'cleans and protects' - the Judge Dredd of maintenance products
