Rugby this weekend Wales, England and Ireland to win this weekend? Wales have to be the ones to beat, established team on the back of a grand slam, confidence will be high Scotland...no comment, they simply don't have the players to do 80 minutes England.....don't seem to have a plan or any confidence France...new team, but which one will turn up Italy....wouldn't we all like to see them get somewhere, (Scotland are the obvious ones to beat) Ireland...don't know, I'd have them as runner up Do not disturb for the next 5 hours unless it's to bring me a cold one WeeJohnyB |
That will be Mrs.KB drooling over the players for the next few weeks then! |
Bergamasco has had an absolute Barry Crocker, Italy needed to shelve him! Love the 6 nations, I get to drink beer during the day ... mmmmm, beeeeeer :D |
Well how boring was that? 4 tries from errors and against a non-event at scrum half for half the game. How can 15 or indeed 21 professionals play with such lack lustre and no plan, no skills, no clue? What is it with all that kicking? Worsley was the only one who looked like he wanted to play rugby with any forward momentum, aggression and pace. Why is it that the home nations teams have pretty much had the same reputation for 30 years. England were boring when I started playing rugby and still are. Hopefully Ireland and France can save the day, or I might just fall asleep on the settee WeeJohnyB |

Amen to that! I kinda stopped watching it. I was really only interested to see Luke McLean (good Italian name ;) ) and how he did. Apparently he's a Brisbane boy with Italian heritage. He did alright and showed a bit of ticker. Something England lacked! And already in the French/Irish game we've seen some expansive backline play! |
There you go, that was a game of rugby. Hopefully we can get more tomorrow, (and maybe an upset?) WeeJohnyB |

I think the Welsh will run all over the Scottish to be honest. But I'm hoping we'll see some good running. Nice to see BO'D back in form too, he's a class act. |
Thought the Ireland/France match was very good, looked at one point as thought Ireland would lose it by not keeping ball in hand as a lot of their deep kicking did little or nothing to gain territory. You need to be very brave to try that on the French IMHO as they are one of the best running rugby teams out there, probably the best in Northern hemisphere. It was good to see a generally flowing match not dominated by forward play, you can usually guarantee that from the French if they are allowed to get away with it. Missed the England/Italy game but by all accounts it was a tad lacklustre. |
went to Twickenham. probably the most boring game ive been to in memory. still, plenty of beer before, during, and after! |

Bugger! |
I had the chance of getting 2 tickets on Friday afternoon, but just missed out, glad I did in hindsight. Hoping this afternoon will be a good game, but have to agree, Wales should walk this one, (although Scotland have been known to upset the form book at home ) WeeJohnyB |

Bit of a rucking really. The Scots got on the case a bit when the Welsh backed off with a comfortable lead three quarters of the way through but it was never really a strong contest. Wales seem intent on defending the championship and on that form will take a bit of beating. |
Agreed, Wales for another Grand Slam based on this weekend's form. |
Yeh, Wales are firm fav from the start, but looking forward to see them against France and Ireland. They should wipe the floor with England. A game of rugby is 80 mins and although Wales were on fire in the first half, they did start to try to play for themselves rather than the team and they let Scotland back in. If Scotland had got that try at the end, which was let's face it mm's away, the last few mins would have been exciting. WeeJohnyB |
Watched Wales v Scotland, read about the Ireland v France and England v Italy games in the Sunday paper. By all accounts some poor Italian flanker was played out of position somewhat!! Looking forward to England v Wales on the 14th  |

One or two nasty "collisions" during the match; those high tackles always make me wince and I'm surprised so few result in serious injury. It has got ridiculous IMHO and needs sorting. I think if anybody is going to give the Welsh a run for it the French will have to step up to the mark. PJ |
