2009 DSC Cadwell Park event is GO!!!!!

Firstly apologies for the short delay in announcing the outcome of the decision on the 2009 DSC 2 day Track Event to be held at Cadwell in June.

We were very close at the March cut off point to the figures required to give us a good chance of sufficient take up to take on the risk of booking the track and these have now thankfully been achieved.

Time to get your plans in place and if you haven’t booked your place yet to get cracking; to cover the remaining places we will be promoting them out to other interested Ducati enthusiasts.

We have confirmation that Ducati UK will be bringing along bikes for you to test ride and that JHP will provide a suspension set up service. Other items will be determined and announced between now and June now that we know we will be going ahead. There is not sufficient interest to hold a hog roast this year at this stage.

We will hold the AGM on the evening of the first day, more details of that to follow.

Due to current difficult personal circumstances I can’t get involved in a lot of forum discussion at the moment but will try, as usual, to answer any queries I get via email.

Look forward to seeing you at Cadwell!!!!!!!

Paul James

Followed closely by the Popham Megameet :)

Gbyte666 11-Mar-2009 16:36

OH YEA, great news indeed. Cant wait for 2 great days on track on my 996 and all sorts of demo Ducati's. The hants crew will be holding in conjunction with this event our anual beer & Pif take.

Will you be supplying the crowbar Roy?

Dukey 20-Mar-2009 21:11

Hi Paul

I faxed my membership renewal & booking form on 31st January, not heard a sausage since. I am probably in the same position as many other members. Would I be right in assuming this will now be processed? It seems ages since I received my last copy of Pronto too!

Looking forward to Cadwell again though. Hope I'm fit enough by then.

Best wishes to everyone.

Dukey

Hi Dukey,

Apologies for any delay in the membership process.

I'll contact those that need to know.

Best way to contact them however is via:

Is this only for fully paid up members?

ak47 26-Mar-2009 19:01

yes it is, but even with the annual subs it is a very good value trackday

Yep but by joining to do the trackday you save the £5 joining fee.

No doubt someone will correct me if I'm wrong but the Monday is probably going to be the only UK trackday that is Ducati only. For better or for worse the DSC is now the only UK club to run its own trackday and not piggyback on a commercial TDO event.:)

Ray

Monty 27-Mar-2009 09:46

Correct on both counts Ray-as usual.

Erm no its not, DSC want £105 for 1 day or £200 for the 2 days. So say i joined at £25 then did 1 day thats £130. But if i book with Focused Events for a Cadwell trackday in June its £89!!!

chris.p 27-Mar-2009 20:20

Who is running the trackday this year, Focused Events or No Limit's????

Dukey 27-Mar-2009 22:00

I stand corrected, I should have added the phrase "In my opinion" as I base the value on merit from my experience of the DSC days and other trackday companies. If you base value on $$$ then it shouldn't matter about the reduced joining fee..... enjoy your day with Focussed!

Enjoy the test rides on the DUK test fleet, I take it they will be there at the FE day:D

Don't get me wrong I do commercial TDs as well but when I want to ride my Ducati in the company of other Ducatis and have a go on Ducatis latest and greatest there's no better choice.

Ray.

No, but I've done the trackday every year, never had a confirmation and never had a problem on the day.

Lightning Boy 31-Mar-2009 22:29

Yeah..... but you run the shop...... I'm just a punter.......

Iconic944ss 31-Mar-2009 22:30

Thanks Frank, followed the link but it's regarding Ducati UK attending various UK Trackdays. I can't see anything relating to whether anyone who has booked will be receiving any form of confirmation from the DSC.

Sorry, my friend - I thought your post was a reference to if Ducati was attending with the test fleet.

I think its a valid concern that those who want confirmation of their places should get it in some form.

Cheers - Frank

True, but I've only helped run the shop (I like to think of myself as the Granville of the DSC :) )for less than a year - and for around 9 months a few years back - but I've been to every DSC trackday since the first one at Mallory in 2003 as an ordinary punter just like you.

This'll be my first one as an MT member but I can't see any reason why it should be any different to all the others

Cheque cashed? Card Debited?

Hi Roy, that's the next step........ tho' I understood that any debits were to be made only on a certain date or if the event proved financially viable. So maybe no debit as yet..........

Still, in this day an age, it's nice to know that it's not only controlled substances that you don't get a receipt for...... :)

Dementor 01-Apr-2009 22:16

My cheque was cashed about 3 weeks ago :)
