Pipes - what\'s available?

Hi folks,

Looking around at pipes for my 749S and I know the various Termi options, and that they will keep my warranty intact.

However, I was wondering what else is out there? Renegade do a twin can conversion (ugly) and Akrapovic have a system now with a single outlet that also looks ugly. Casoli Moto have a stainless system and Arrow don't have anything listed. Is there anything else?

I like the Termis but I don't like the way the carbon heat shroud covers the exhaust outlets. Does anyone produce a system that looks just like the factory race exhausts???

Sil have a set, they are popular in Germany

This is one of the best looking ones I've seen.

Now that I like! Any idea who stocks them and at what price???

KeefyB 01-Jun-2004 14:28

ItaliaMoto in Lincoln sell/stock LeoVince, they might be able to help.

Twinfan 01-Jun-2004 14:38

Love the Leos so I rang a local (fairly major) dealer.

Slip-on is £1400 :o
Full system is £2500 :o:o:o

Termis are cheaper!! I prefer the look of the Leo Vinces, but at that price they can keep them!

Bloody hell.......

just dont bother buying a 57mm ti system from termi just yet as the end boxes are pants ive just snapped my third and that one lasted only 2 days !!!!!!!!!!!! and they know about the problem but keep on shipping out the old stuff first.....

KeefyB 01-Jun-2004 14:57

Wow those Leos are pricey!:o:o:o
I guess this system wont be much cheaper either!I saw it on my holiday at Daytona. Its made by HPE Tubistyle. The 999 in the bottom r/h corner has one fitted.(Nice carbon MV style no.plate holder.)
Sorry I have'nt got any more info, their website has no mention of bike systems, only car stuff. The U.S site is better.

Another alternative is to get in touch with Spyke748 who occasionaly posts on this site.He was making a neat can and front pipe for around 550quid.

Interesting..............I've got the 57MM system which I've had for 5 months/2500KMS and I've had no problems.

Who's doing the fitting for you?

Mine'll probably break now:mad:

the best i've seen- from a japan website, with conversion to USD it's about 4K usd....way exp. considering the full termi is about 3k here

http://www.motocorse.net/homeing.asp
about 400000yen, though the japan site says it's availible, this euro site says it's coming soon..*shrug* looks f'ing pimp!

The stuff shown in the first photo is a standard system

The second one looks kosher.

The 3rd one sounds like an assymetric system.

Beware , the race ECU is different for each different model of 749 and 999 , also , if the race supplied ECU has been fitted to a bike (even if only for 600 miles as stated in the 3rd ad , it wouldn't matter if it was 6 miles or 6000 miles) that ECU will not work now on any other bike other than the first one it was fitted to (Ducati Uk know about this problem) , you will have to either buy a replacement ECU (£450 ish) or run the system with the standard ECU , you then get the noise but possibly not the full BHP gains that you might get by running the pipe with the correct race ECU :bouncy:

Well that Tubistyle system shouldn't have problems with heat build up if it's made of Inconel.

In a previous life I worked as a salesman for a specialist metal stockholder (would've been handy now with access to as much titanium tube or sheet as I want), anyway Inconel is a high heat nickel alloy usually found in jet engines, as far as I remember, so it should last forever. Mind you it was 25 years ago and copious quantities of Stella have destroyed the odd brain cell since then so my memory might not be spot on.
