The beast is back!!
 

Well, the beast is back after a long lay off! I had an overheating problem all through last year that I chased. It would run great for ages then overheat, but the temp was held steady at 100 with the fan override on. Anyway, to cut a long story short, it was the rear head gasket, so I pulled her apart for a winter rebuild. I sort of got side tracked and ended up changing/adding a few more things:

• Black marvics changed to gold Marchisinis
• Blue samcos changed for black(I didn’t trhink the blue were in keeping with an SP5)
• New be-spoke rear disc made to match corsa style
• Underseat tray removed and new carbon one made
• Rear light replaced with solid billet one(complete with LEDS)
• New numberplate hanger/indicator assembly made
• And the piece de resistance: FULL carbon bodywork
• Front indictors replaced with leds in handlebar ends and airs scoops
• New front discs
• Roche screen

Looking even better than last year Jasper (if thats possible)!! I'm hoping that the coolant I was losing last year is fixed by the hose repacements and that mine is not head gasket as well.

Looks there will be at least 3 851/888's at Cadwell.

I've been running round for the last year trying to balance a hectic job, trying to look after an increasingly disabled Mrs Jools, doing whatever I can to finish the house restoration and do the garden up so that we can sell this place as soon as the housing market looks up a bit. We both love this house and wanted to be carried out of it in our box, but we've gotta concede that being on a hill with no car parking anywhere near, it's not in a suitable location for a disabled person, and being a victorian house isn't wheelchair friendly inside either...it's got to make way for a nice little bungalow somewhere (Jeez I never, ever thought I'd be looking for bungalows).

Oh, and I've been doing Pronto in my 'spare' time

All of which means that my T8 is in the same state I left it in and my ST is still half way through an ally swingarm transplant to replace the original steelie. The ST is gonna be the easiest to do, so I'll be putting a flurry of activity in on that.

Haven't ridden since the last track day though so I'm expecting to be in the inters and amongst the slowest of them an' all

Don't worry about being the slowest. My 888 hasn't turned a wheel in anger yet this year due to an ongoing kitchen extension thats been using up all my free time and it won't be done any time soon. We can both bimble around at the back.....
