Southend on Sea Italian Festival Southend are again holding an Italian Festival this year on Sat 29th August . It would be great if we could represent the club, as last year, with a display of our bikes. But this year make it bigger and better. Thanks. |
Col Count me in, should be able to bring friend on his MV again. Had a great day last year :) |
Thanks Paul, It will be good to see you again. |
Just a reminder and for those who may have not seen this when I first posted it. |
I have just been contacted by the organisers. They would like a commitment as they need to put together an agender to send to the printers for the flyers to be printed. If I don't get a better response I will have to say we won't be going, which is a shame as it was a good event last year. |
You can have my three if you want them, might take some organising to get them there! |

Col, I will try to make it this year-bring the 450RT John |
Count me in Colin, sounds good. I missed it last year. |

i would like to come 'be first time for me |
Lets start a list: Col996s Paul996 + mate Monty 007 Kneedown |
I've just seen this thread. Count me in on my 900SS. I've no idea where the festival is. Can you post some more details please. Rob |
Hi Rob, It would be great to see the 900ss there. We will be allocated a spot at the end of the high street, outside the Odeon cinima. If you come along on Monday I'll explain further. |
Just to add to this. It is in an area outside the Victoria Circus shopping precinct. The Odeon is the closest building, postcode, SS1 1TJ. |

I know where you mean. See you at the Angel... Rob |
Col Sorry but may not be able to make meet. Wife has arranged for us to go away :( Was really looking forward to coming down again. |
Can my chum on his Aprilia join in to? |
No problems. I'm getting desperate. I'll be opening it up to rice burners at this rate. |

No need for desparation Colin-I will be there. Now the question is-is there anywhere to park a car and trailer-or should I plan to ride down, and what time is kickoff? If I am riding down it's going to be a long slow ride on a vibratory single-autoroute says it is 90.5 miles whatever way I cut it.............. John |
Hi John, There is Multi story car park close by but not sure about the trailer. I think you would be able to un hitch it and leave it near to where we are. There is no fixed start time. I will get there early but get there when you can, about 9, 9.30 would be good. |

Okidoki, well if the weather looks ok I may ride down anyway-just because I can................ John |
I might be up for this ! Whose going along? I will be riding from Surrey, guess its the m25 A127?? Maybe meet along the way for a ride-in? I've not been to southend for about a decade, used to go there as a teenager ! Steve PS, am thinking Tricolore if its sunny. |
It would be good to see you again Steve. The Tricolore would be very welcome. So far: Col996s Monty 007 Kneedown Antonye Robnobrakes + John Wavedavy Just need a Desmosedici now! |

I'm happy to meet you at the Halfway House on the A127 if you want to ride in with me on my 900SS and my chum on his Tuono. Rob |
Quote:
I could meet up with you as well-as long as you guys don't want to go over 60mph................ John |

I'll be waiting at the Halfway House at 8.45am for a 9am ride in to Southend. |

8:45 at the Halfway House....... blimey i had better leave now ! Will check my plans and confirm or not asap ! |
I'll be riding down from South Cambridgshire (J10, M11) anybody fancy riding down together? Any BHCN?? |
Just to confirm the time: Arrive around 9.30am. The event is due to start at 10. For those who came last year the only difference will be that we will be sharing the area with some Ferraris & Alfa Romeos. |
Looks like i can make this ! Can someone confirm where the halfway house is ( other than halfway between london and southend !) I remember it being by the side of the A127 but its been a while ! Also, what time does the event finish ?? Steve |
Great. The pub is on the A127 at West Horndon, Brentwood, Essex, CM13 3LL. Best to Google the postcode for a map. It normally goes onto about 4, 4.30 but if you have to get away then leave when you feel ready. |

We can ride down together as long as you don't mind going SLOWLY-I will be coming across from St.Neots on the 428 to junction 13-was intending to go across country since the 450RT really doesn't want to cruise at more than 60................ John |
If you are intending to meet us at the Halfway House (9.45am for a 10am start), a 60mph cruise will be fine. There are 50 and 40 mph speed limits on the A127 for half the ride anyway. |
Last year I made up some laminated cards and placed by the bikes with a few brief details, Model, age, how long owned, any significant mods ect. If I get the time I will try and do the same for this year. If people could PM me or add to this post their details then it would be appreciated. Thanks. |

To embarrassed to as I'm on the ugly bike this week (ST4S) |

Nothing wrong with an ST4S-I should know I have one of the first to come into the country-had it since 22nd May 2001. The ST range is one of Ducati's hidden treasures-brilliant touring bikes which tend to be overlooked-and an ST4S can show a lot of sport bikes the way home. John |

OK, 0845 at the halfway house! Look forward to it. |

OK John, great, I can meet you J13, M11, say 0800? |
I can recommend coming via Chelmsford if you want to come cross country. Drop off the M11 at Stansted then try to pickup the A1060 (via Takeley) from Hatfield Heath all the way into Chelmsford - lovely road! Out of Chelmsford you can take the B1007 and then A176 onto the A127. This will cut the corner off the M11 > M25 > A127 route. As both myself and Colin will be leaving from Chelmsford, you can always meet us first and we'll lead the way? |

Sounds good to me, Monty? |
