what Grave Is my Class A bike be in the Grave or has it a new lease of life As my Van is now gone the pole has become a bit redundent so I thought I would run another one. This time based on the power output of my DD bike having just taken some cash for the van I can afford to pay for another Dyno run I put it on the Dyno at the 6-Nations Donington meeting where it nearly managed to pull the skin off a rice pudding. Making a Class B shattering 55bhp luckily its a Class A bike or should that read unluckily its a Class A bike Having had a bit of a tinker since returning from Donington I feel confident that I will now have more power, the question is how much will it have next time its on the Dyno. So as the Poll allows 10 options I think i'll go with 55 for those doubters out there 56 57 58 59 60 61 62 63 64 I would prefer to have it on the Dyno next week some time before going to Snetterton but may not be able to manage that. Still need to sort out the PC3 USB from the 998 otherwise I'll have to go with the older PC2 serial jobbie |
wheres the option for 45???! |

Oh ye of little faith :p and I see your not the only one lacking a bit of faith Now who ever voted for 61bhp I would be well happy with that :) |
I could do with mine having a run Kev, do you reckon a discount for 2 bikes straight after each other?? |
probbly cost you more in fuel to get down here with yours Phil than what any discount would be worth. I'm going to see how much Grant at GP Motorcycles (around the back of MPS which is next to H-Cafe) will charge for a power run. He's just set up Dallas's 583 and did the jetting on mutley748s 583 as well As Donny the Dyno run cost me £25 which was money well spent |

Phil I need to get my 583 on a dyno! Do you know any around your neck of the woods ? Cov is only 40 mins up the road :) |
I was thinking of a Snett run if one is going. John Hackett told me to catch him at the shop, but we keep missing each other, or he hides when he sees me. LOL:) Anyway hoping for another good dice with Senna3, but really need new tyres, as I'm still using the scrubs I put on for my first outing at Pembrey last year. |

Hi Steve, I was hoping to get with JH without going through the shop, but its difficult tieing up with him. There are 2 places in Aylesbury Road & Track and Chris woods I think is the other. Yours mine and Sennas must be very comparible I would say. |

That'll be Dave Woods in aylesbury the one currently racing a KTM. I was hoping to get over there but it futher to travel making it harder to fit in before Snett, where as i could possibly go to Grant's on the way home from work if I take the van with the bike in the back. Dougie at work takes his 2-strokes to Road & Track and is happy with the results |

Mine is just set up blind really, trial and error..lol I would like to know if it's fueling right as I've not a clue! |
I didn't waste money on a dyno. Just let a guy that knows what he's doing set it up. Nelly took a bag of sheet and returned a competetive bike. |

....and you stuck it straight in the gravel!!!! ;) |
Corrected or Raw ......? Quote:
Will that be corrected or un corrected Rear Wheel HP or Raw RWHP, and if so to what correction factor ????? LOL ! |

It will be measured in the same way as the Dyno Pro unit measured it at Donington, which is the same way as any bikes will be measured as part of the policing of the series |
Except I thought the unit to be used for policing was a DynoJet dyno? |
Rules say a Dynojet Corrected Dyno This allows the use of Dynos Like Dyno-Pro or Fuchs and not just Dynojet where these other Dynos have a facility to correct the reading they give to bring them in line with the Dynojet Dyno readings |
Gotcha..........will there be a Dyno at each round Kev? |
I wish, then I could get mine Dynod'd next weekend if there was but sadly not, its a shame we couln't have made use of the Dyno at Donington, would have been good to have put the top 3 from each class on it just to start the season off on the right foot, |
Well Vince at Seastar, the Ducati dealer local to Snetterton has a mobile Dynajet dyno....would you like me to ask him if he's willing to bring it? |
Not sure how that would be with the circuit owners as they usually charge businesses for operating in the paddock and I doubt if New Era would want to pay for the Dyno runs unless there is another class there that they intend Policing. If the circuit owners were OK with it would there be enough people at the meeting willing to pay for a Dyno run as I did at Donington to make it worth their while coming along. Ghost, Imol Duke and myself would be interested but I'm not sure how many others. Vince probably has more of an idea how these things work with the clubs and circuits than i do, so it may be woth mentioning it to him |
Park the dyno outside the front gate :) |
I would love to have mine dyno'ed. |
hi chaps i am pretty sure there is a dyno at mallory, there is a small racing setup behind the pub at the circuit,i will go andtry and get some details and let you know its only a couple of miles away, although i think the #96 may put you both to shame when i deploy the dylithium chrystal button !!!! |
And the results of Todays Dyno run on GP Performances (Thanks for the discounted price Grant) Fuchs Dyno Max power was found to be at 8820rpm Where thr figures are Crankshaft = 65bhp Gearbox = 61.9bhp and the all important Rear wheel = 59.4 :) thats better The Majority of the votes were for 59, followed closely by 60 so spot on guys and gals. There is still room for improvement as the power curve tails off above 7k as the mixture goes first rich and then weak |
well done kev, so what are your plans to cure the mixture problems then? A custom map for the PC3 maybe, or swap it for a pc4 or 5 and idividually tune each cylinder? oohh!!! the expence hurts already!!! |
great result kev! maybe I will try it again at cadwell...! |

Already started down this route Ross On the Dyno today I had the PC running an advanced Zero Map Since bringing the bike back home I have reworked the map taking a little fuel out of both cylinders from 7k rpm upwards. after doing that I have changed the rear cylinder exhaust header to one with a Lambda probe in and fitted my Hallmeter air/fuel indicator to the bike. Hopefully while crusing at wide open throttle down the back straight at Snetterton on Sunday I can get some indication of how to tweek the map to improve things even more. Monday I'll swap the Air/fuel monitor for the lap timer and see how I'm doing in the real world Still like to put it on the same Dyno Pro dynometer that it went on at Donington in March and Castle Combe in 2007 to see what that reads |
