Rattler is as well I believe :)

WeeJohnyB 25-May-2009 16:07

His Lordship, the right honourable sir tim of trumpet esq, obe dsc and bogof is indeed instructing. Monty will be available for pointing at you from the canteen (with his good arm)

Having only done three days in Portimao and one day at cadwell this year, I will be instructing myself for the first few laps to get myself up to speed!!! I will be at the No Limits trackday at Cadwell on the Sunday, so please feel free to give me pit signals/hand gestures from the canteen!!!

WeeJohnyB

Rattler 25-May-2009 23:16

I will indeed be there and very much looking forward to it.

Having spent today battling(ish) the trumpet in the axe murderers 600 class at Snett, I'm looking forward to the more considerate, courteous, but equally focused riding of the DSC crew for the 2 days on track at Cadwell. :)

Cadwell will be awesome, it's gonna be a goodun, if you're not yet booked, get booking!! ;) And if you want some top quality instruction, speak to WJB!!! ;)

Chris Wood 26-May-2009 03:13

Tims tour of Cadwell.

Lobbed it here, here and here....ouch.

WeeJohnyB 26-May-2009 09:36

Tim ...."And if you want some top quality instruction, speak to WJB!!! ;)"

......who will point you in the direction of Skids....

In that case I think i'll be asking nicely.
Also hoping to take Dallas's ex Buildbase 1098 out which has had a few upgrades which weren't allowed under the Superstock rules.
Please, please please let the weather be like we had this weekend at Snetterton, the sort where its so hot that it robs the pesky little air-cooled DD bikes of a bit of power and stops them embarrasing some of the bigger bikes.
Now with Snetterton is out of the way and the new van getting a good outing I had better start preping a couple of bikes for the trackday

TP 26-May-2009 11:48

This is what I'm riding :D

Can you tell what it is yet?

WeeJohnyB 26-May-2009 14:48

I'm assuming the panels are not a clue unless you are putting a woolf in sheaps clothing!!

WeeJohnyB

Ray 26-May-2009 14:51

Does it have an odd number of cylinders, can't just tell from the pics and I can't be bothered googling up some pics to compare crank cases and swing arms. :D

I suppose WJB won't be the only one spoiling the V twin rumble this year on day one with a sewing machine on speed?

Ray.

Not sure it will be as much fun then as Dallasīs bike, but your welcome m8 though no TDC as it will have a Nemises fitted so you will need to ride by the seat of your pants :)

TP 26-May-2009 15:43

Yes I'll be on a 4. An NC29, if we get it built in time ...

Should be a laugh! Hopefully it will have some unusual and tasteful mods ...

Just like Dallas's then, apparently switching to the wet setting turns it into a pussy cat

Gis a go:)
I hope you are fitting a CBR600 rear shock to it, or an aftermarket 10mm longer shock, otherwise she will deck the pegs or any aftermarket exhaust system you have.

Just look at the spangely sparks coming from the Nasert Beet exhaust system decking out around Gerrards:(

Or as my dearly beloved would say 'talk bullocks about bikes'

John

WeeJohnyB 26-May-2009 18:57

so we can drink tea and talk shyte!!! ;)

you've got the instructing lark sorted then....... as 'chief' instructor, cough, choke, I will be talking the most sheeite and in true chiefy type fashion, doing the least amount of work....I think it's called delegation.... or possibly learning & development as it's called nowadays although there is no budget for development anymore, just a link to a website or 'sametime' active learning sessions, maybe instructors should follow this lead and just tell people to read twist of the wrist...

Empowerment, perfect,

bradders 26-May-2009 21:12

as I started this thread does that mean I get each one of you for a session :puzzled:

who knows I may be able to do corners then..

WeeJohnyB 26-May-2009 21:33

ok Bradders, you're first bit of virtual instruction

just go faster

there you go, easy this instructing game

I have a photo of me racing on my CB5 at home next to a picture of James Toseland fully cranked over on his Ducati, both signed by him, on the photo he wrote "just go faster" and on the poster he wrote "not this fast though"
We talked for about 20 minutes about CB racing, he loved it when he won the CB5 cup. He was going to Donny to see his mate racing a few weeks later at a New Era meeting and said he would look me up in the paddock.....must have had another engagement as he never showed up!

Cheeky pup

WeeJohnyB

bradders 26-May-2009 21:54

I'm still recovering from that self-advice at Mallory last year!!

Ray 27-May-2009 13:01

I'm not convinced of the instructing lineups qualifications to talk complete borroxs.

They need to prove themselves...................

Track etiquette

Lord R’ or anyone of your noteworthy colleagues, can I trouble you for some advice on track etiquette and associated niceties for Cadwell park.

Will these Desmo Due racing ladies and gentlemen (I wager they may be some ladies present but I can be difficult to ascertain on the circuit especially if they are not riding side saddle) give some sort of signal if they wish too overtake, perhaps three short toots on their mounts horn or a hand gesture as they come alongside?
How should we acknowledge such a signal, a cheery wave or nicely handwritten letter to their staff in the paddock?

Can arrangements been made for riding companions with umbrellas should one need shading from the sun as one circulates about the circuit on ones steed?

Yours respectfully,

Ray
