TT Preview Show - On Now...

ITV4 - on those fancy new-fangled digi-boxes, or online:
http://www.itv.com/Channels/ITV4/default.html

bradders 04-Jun-2009 22:24

watching it online...big brother *****e starts tonight

antonye 04-Jun-2009 22:47

Heh, same here mate - missus will now take over the TV for the next 12 f**king weeks, or how ever long that sh*te lasts for!

bradders 04-Jun-2009 22:53

theres always a silver lining...see the blonde model?! how long before she's naked in the shower :D

Ray 05-Jun-2009 13:52

The TT programme was agood 'un. There's no bigger and better bike event IMHO in the UK.

Guy Martin is getting more eccentric by the hour:lol:

Nice to see Rutter doing a DIY TT.

Outside the top dozen or so thats how so many people do it. They take a bike or two over, beg or borrow the stuff they need and get some mates together to give them a hand.

Another preview programme tonight as well.

Ray.

Col996s 05-Jun-2009 14:27

I also thought the program was a good un. I can't remember the name of the guy who used to present it (he use to do a Used car program) but last nights presenters were much better, IMHO.

Good luck to Guy Martin he deserves some luck this year.

TP 05-Jun-2009 14:45

I've just finished watching last night's show on the ITV Player on my laptop. Guy Martin had me in tears with a factory Honda spread all over his shed and his tea making technique....

Cameron Donald went very fast last night!

Ray 05-Jun-2009 14:46

Mike Brewer was one of the presenters last year.

The Whit has done the TT himself a time or two and Stavros is an IOM resident IIRC.

Ray

Col996s 05-Jun-2009 15:36

Mike Brewer, that's the guy.

gordonparker 05-Jun-2009 16:08

I am just going to try Martin's "emulsion" - he is getting worse

His sister is the same about spanners and uses them very nicely in the BSB paddock, must be a family thing

"An emulsion is better than a mixture"

 He's definitely a character, love it. I'm a big fan.

bradders 06-Jun-2009 00:32

what about the super slow-mo?! great shots, the one head on with flames out the back was almost art!

YMFB 06-Jun-2009 23:39

Super slow mo with the bird taking off awesome.

out of hospital now and leaving for IOM Tuesday early with the rain forcing changes could really play in to our hands. Cant wait even if I cant walk properly

bradders 06-Jun-2009 23:56

oh yeah, forgot you were going!! best get the missus strap a walking stick to the back ;)

skidlids 07-Jun-2009 02:31

Wish I was going, although the improved TV coverage does help soften the blow its still not the same as being there.

Yes hats off to ITV. Coverage so far has been superb. I can't wait for the racing to start.

skidlids 07-Jun-2009 09:44

At least they called it off early yesterday
I remeber back in 2003 when we were lready for the start of the Proddy 1000 TT, we had been up early, got the bike scrutineered and then sat around for hours as the 10am start kept getting pushed back and back amd Adrian the rider was all wound up like a coiled spring waiting to go, must play havoc with the riders nerves as they just want to get on the bike and race

KeefyB 07-Jun-2009 10:56

Not much fun for spectators either,.....sat up on the mountain,.....mist coming down,....roads closed,so no way of getting back to the b&b.
Not been for 10 years now,but its still not out of my system.

bradders 07-Jun-2009 11:45

never been, must do it sometime soon while I can drink as much beer as I can and ride as fast as I can...be too old soon ;)

Worth it just for Mad Sunday.Nice to do a couple of laps in the daytime with all the loons and numpties,.......even better to do it in the early evening when they have all gone to tea.

YMFB 07-Jun-2009 23:06

or get up at 430 and wake everyone else up on the campsite before doing a quick lap.

Only two more sleeps till we go and because of the rescheduling we should, weather permitting get an extra race in the four days we are there.

If you have never been make sure you do it soon, with all the doom mongers you never know when it might get axed !

YMFB 07-Jun-2009 23:08

and as someone else said hats off to ITV 4 great roundups and they didnt employ Mike Brewer but got Whit and Stavros with the Irish fellah

Col996s 08-Jun-2009 09:06

Stavros was on a 1098 last night. Said it was "Excellant".

WeeJohnyB 08-Jun-2009 10:43

ah memories, know what oyu mean Keith, been three times and will return one day as it's a fabulous way to spend a week off work, sitting huddled behind some wall for hours waiting for the races to start, mist on the mountain, cold drizzle, everything you have is damp, only sheep and a copy of MCN for company....then the sun comes out and the racing starts and the beers flow and it's paradise, nothing like it...every biker should experience it.

Said before on here, but watching in the eitghties when Steve Hislop broke down right next to us and basically sat with us watching the racing with his bike up against a wall until recovery truck arrived...wish I'd known at the time he was going to become one of my favourite riders.

TV coverage has been excellent, we don't say it often, but well done to the TV boys.

WeeJohnyB

Ray 10-Jun-2009 11:12

More mega coverage, it's on every day/evening.

Yesterdays supersport race was mega, three or four bikes battling on the road, never mind corrected time.

In the superstock race the bikes are lapping only a couple of mph less than the superbikes:eek:

Suzook are having a nightmare TT.

Ray.

WeeJohnyB 10-Jun-2009 12:48

If you're not watching this, you should, the racing is superb and the coverage is quite amazing - the super slow motion camera work is quite astonishing, you can see every movement of the bike and the rider inputs and their eyes staring into the distance, never seen coverage like it

I'm watching and as you say the coverage is remarkable if not a little frightening, having covered the course quite a few times It amazes me the speeds they get up to through some of the more dangerous sections and the shots of Milkys crash in the TT History program just go to show how easily an accident can happen.
The quality of the racing is brilliant and you do feel sorry for those that break down such as Bruce Anstey and Michael Dunlop, more so Bruce having done most of the hard work by the time he went out of the Supersport TT.

bradders 10-Jun-2009 14:10

the slow mo over agos leap was unreal...3 of them in a line and I think it was Ansty landed crossed up and watching the flex in the rear tyre makes you think...that and the lan angle McGuiness was carrying on the gooseneck (??) makes you wince
