Swine flu Sitting here at home feeling S**t. Probably only a cold but I don't normally get colds, who knows. Turned the radio off as I'm getting fed up being told that 65000 people are going to die of Swine flu. Any body on here has it or know someone close who has it? |
Col, feeling quite despressed with all the blooming press coverage really and obviously worried as I have 2 small kids..... Apparently there has been one case at our local middle school but thats about it so far in the close area anyway..... |
it's all media hype and only kills people that are already weakened by other ailments. Doctors describe it as a mild flu, nothing more. |
7 cases at the nursary where the wife works. another 7 at the primary school where she volunteers ( 7 confirmed about 20 kids of with symptoms) and another case confirmed at the school my kids are at, and a few off with symptoms. hey ho. i think that if we dont all get it it will be a miracle |
I think i'm coming down with swine flu. Went to the doctors today and he told to rub some oinkment onto the rashers lapman |

Viruses can be spread on the internet, please refrain from posting on the site untill you are fully recoverd :) |
Argh! Spoke too soon! Just been confirmed that one of the kids in my daughters' school has got swine flu, and the older sibling is in the same class as my daughter! Let's hope it's not spread amongst the classes yet as they've now broken up for summer holidays! |
The nursery where our 2 year old is has a suspected case this week. It is suddenly more worrying when it's close to home |
A colleague in the US has had it confirmed that he had it, I spoke to him at home and he said he felt better than with traditional flu. Now fully recovered and back at work |
It looks like Cherie Blair has it now too http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/new...cle6716158.ece |
I've hardly moved from the sofa for two days which as any member of my family will tell you is not like me as I'm always on the go. All the normal symptoms of flu. Just trying not to give it to the rest of the house. |
Spoke to NHS direct. My daughter is off to the hospital tonight to pick up a prescription for Tamiflu. If I have to stay in for much longer I'll be climbing up the wall. |
Colin, sorry to hear your not well, my neice returned home from uni with it 2 weeks ago. Lasted about a week but now fully recovered and the rest of the family managed to stay healthy. make the most of it loads of bike racing on the tv today. |
Thanks Dave, good to hear from you. Great MotoGP. |
Col, sorry to hear your unwell. My uncle has been real ill for the last week, and they suspected he had it but on further tests said it wasn't after all. Whatever it was, he has no idea where he picked it up from. No warning, just woke up last Sunday feeling *****e and he has been wiped out all week. Get well soon mate. Cheers, John. |
After being diagnosed with H1N1 and given Tami flu I returned to work today, as believe it or not I hate being at home, sick and I do have things at work that need doing and I feel ok now. Fcuk me any one would think I had the black death. I was more or less turned around and sent home again. The press really are painting a black picture of this Swine flu. |
Well I suppose it's better to pay you to sit at home rather than infect the rest of the work force and have everyone off sick! Be thankful that your company are good enough to let you stay off sick even if you think you should be at work - most companies would drag you from your death bed if they could get away with it! |
