Oulton park

There are indications on the other site that Gordon is in hospital!
Anybody know any details?

chris.p 19-Jul-2009 09:49

As far as I am aware, he had an altercation with a campervan on his way to Oulton Park yesterday morning :( . The last I heard was that he is in Northampton General with a broken ankle but in good spirits.

Just lifted this from the Ducatisti sight, posted by Karen (DucatiGirl)

UPDATE!!!!

Gordon P has just rung me from his hospital bed - he's in Northampton hospital - I did mention I would post this........

He is still waiting for an mri scan on his ankle - he is in excellent spirits and was telling me stories about the man in the next hospital bed who apparently saved the Lancaster bomber from a fate worse than death, that you all went to see today.

He is not impressed with the level of attractiveness of the nurses there and refers to the main one looking after him as the one from "Gorillas in the mist".

It would seem he has had a very lucky escape, he did at one point on seeing the motor home think he could be the next wardrobe monster

Lets hope he is let loose on the community soon, hugs Gordon x

Hello!! This is Ross ... Gordons brother. Yes he is in Northampton General Colling Tree Ward with a couple of lower leg fractures. He is in good spirits as a cutie nurse has come on duty this morning!! He is hoping to be discharged Monday and may well make it to Lucies funeral. Personally I cant see it but it must be the halluconagenic drugs they keep giving him!! :-) Appetite is fine as he is demanding I take him some BBQ ribs after Moto GP.....

Ross P

Iconic944ss 19-Jul-2009 13:08

Thanks for the update Ross.

Please pass on our best wishes for his recovery.

Telling him to keep his hands to himself I guess would be a pointless exercise ;)

Thanks again - Frank

gordonparker 19-Jul-2009 13:21

bike is a bit of a mess though!

Jools 19-Jul-2009 16:48

Blimey...The bloke is on the MT and they still get the news on the other channel first

Bad news Gordon, hopefully you'll mend quick and not need too many bed baths..although maybe you'd prefer to heal slow under those circumstances.

Shame about the bike, but it's only metal

Gordon Parker I pushed the final mtrs and pushed like hell from 8.30 for release papers, managed to get over the wall at 2pm, Ross was waiting in the forest with the BM and we made a hasty getaway. Went and visited the crash scene on the way back and was nearly sick, I know know why I did not see him till the last moment as he was hiding behind the phone shop in Jack's cafe and came out from behind were most people turn left there is a filter lane, he decided to turn right and pulled out less than 20 mtrs infront of me, oh s*it ( will go up later and take some measurements) I had not chance, I knew at the time I was very very lucky but going back even more so.
Collapsed last night due to very little sleep and being kept awake by inconsidetate night nursing staff who would take till nearly midnight before giving me my infusion / painkillers and switching the lights off, Ross is far better and as I type is preparing a full english !
Off to locate some wheels today and as you can see feeling much better for escaping and being home.
Thanks to all who called/texted sorry if I did not reply but they kept telling me off for using the phone.
After only 3 days in hosp I can assure you all the horror stories of the NHS are true but they do have some very good staff who really do care, it's just a shame that they cannot show their true potential due to the system, I could go on but brekkers is ready.
Ambulance was there just as I had crawled to the kerb !!

Many thanks to Alpinestars, Arai and sidi, without them I would have been in a very sorry state:(
Off to find some wheels later

The bike is a write off but we have a cunning plan, will post some pics later:)

Glad to read you are out of hospital, mate - GWS.

Sorry to hear about your bike though but it sounds like you have a nice plan to keep you motivated?!?

I guess it might be sometime before you can venture up to the Northern wastelands again?

Take care - Frank

Might be a few weeks before I can drive Frank, but I will be back up there soon and we can finely have that lunch !

badgerpilot 22-Jul-2009 10:50

Glad you're on the mend fella, your story is one of the reasons I sold my Mille and came to the DSC racing.
I'll keep hold of your chocolate digestives till you can get to a meeting.

It's already been booked into the Krankenhaus in Munich, Thomas is keen to rebuild his project.

Anybody with a van fancy a trip to Munchen in the next few weeks ?

Good food, hospitality and the best weekend you have ever had guarenteed, here is a pic of one of the staff who built it , just a slight incentive

Thanks Lilly, I was a little down and tired last night, it took 20 mins to hobble up the stairs to bed, but all has changed this morning after a good nights sleep, I am sure when the shoulder and hand injury recover I shall be even more mobile.

How do you have a bath/shower ? thats the next challange:lol:

harriebird 22-Jul-2009 13:04

keep all your tesco bags as they are very handy for covering up your pot (if you have one) - you can tie the handles nice and snugly round the top to keep the water out :) not too tight so as to cut off the circulation mind!

worked a treat for me for both my hand and my ankle.

bath is probably best so you can keep your foot up. or sit down in the bath and have a shower if possible.

a very uncomfortable and awkward time and also embarrassing at times! but you'll be ok.

get well soon gordon! :)

Dont think a tesco bag will be long enough, better get to tescos for some heavy duty bin bags:lol:

Thanks for your wish's and stay safe

Still up for the "girls on Friday" Andy ?

Will give you a call

gordonparker 23-Jul-2009 08:00

Had a great day yesterday, didn't make it for the wheels, met a few people in the village who had a service in the Church Hall next door on Sunday morning and prayed for my speedy recovery. They are so great
Ross was watching Moto GP and had to turn the sound up as the village hall ajoins my house:lol: He is feeling a bit guilty now.

Following a night of pain I have inspected under the temp cast and discovered what a s*it job they have done. They have not looked at my foot after leaving A&E on Sat am and I have a blood sack on the top of my ankle approx 100mm x 50mm.

I am off to see the nurse at 8am them maybe MK General, I also have other reasons for never seeing that consultant ever again.

I did have a choice either Northampton or MK, I went to Northampton as Mr Cobb looked after Barry Sheene and many others when the GP was at Silverstone and I thought his apprentaces may be of a similar standard.

I had noticed recently that the air ambulance from Silverstone flies south after a major incident to either Stoke Mandaville or Oxford John Radcliffe, now I think I know why:mad:

Trouble with the JR is you have to put up with us lot in Oxford visiting, just like Chippy had to.

Hope they sort you out a bit better and make things a bit more comfortable for you.

Fastfasulli 23-Jul-2009 20:31

Sorry to hear the news. GWS Gordon.

gordonparker 24-Jul-2009 09:14

Thanks

Sharon, :ninja:
the service I got from you was the best and unfortunatley I thought this was normal but now realize it was exeptional,:D
Had to go to the Doc's yesterday as I discovered a rather large blood bubble just above the toes, they decided to leave it but all the Doc's came to have a look as they had never seen one so big:o !! God it hurts,I have pics

Many thanks for looking after me, your the best.

Will be back in the fracture clinic next Thursday am.

Cant thank you enough

Gordon XXX:)
