Just advised

WorldDucatiWeek, September 2010. Save the date.
Hi Gordon,
We're pleased to give you advance notice that WDW is coming back. The planned date for motorcycle fans of all ages and nationalities to come together is September 2010 at the Misano World Circuit.
Four days of non-stop fun are planned: track sessions, official riders and stunts, evening parties, concerts, motorcycle tours, Ducati Factory and Museum visits, historical bikes exhibitions, conferences, and much more. It doesn’t matter if you have a Ducati, another kind of bike, or just plain enthusiasm for motorcycles: The red planet is coming back!
Keep an eye on Ducati.com — definitive dates and more information on how you can join us will be online in the upcoming months.

At long last, I wonder if its going to be close to a WSBK or motoGP event.

When will they come up with the date or do I just take all of september 2010 off:D

Ray.

Take the whole month Ray-I'm sure we can find some other things to do.......

You going to ride down-I feel 'Run to the Sun 2010' coming on-and just like last time I will have a new bike.

John

Ray 18-Aug-2009 15:55

Have a look at the 2010 MotoGP calendar only provisional but.....

12 September - San Marino & Riviera di Rimini - Misano

So WDW just before.

Ray.

Well with excellent memories of the last run to the sun (circa 2001) I would definitely support a rerun (although if its going to be every 9 years we probably need to be thinking ahead for 2019 too;-))

Thanks for your vote of confidence Tim-don't you just love it when a plan comes together?

So currently it seems to be:

Date now changed to 10-13th June. That makes it a family holiday, Junior already planning his trip to the Ducati factory, the ferrari factory, the Lamborghini factory................his mum only seems interested in a trip to Frankie Chili's beach club:confused:

Looks like a trip the Mugello MotoGP before WDW is on the cards.

I'll still be going on the 998 though, they'll fly out.

You may be leading the trip then Ray-the change of date has scuppered me-will only just have got back from the MotoGiro which finishes the Saturday before in Monaco. 1 week biking in the summer on my own I can get away with-2 weeks will definately get me into serious trouble....................

I don't fink so.....................why spoil a long distance blat.

Although if someone is going the exact same dates I am, using the same roads, stopping at the same fuel halts for the same length of time and traveling at the same speed it's a possibility:lol:

June 2010 looks like another bikefest month, Mugello GP, WDW then the DSC trackday.

Looks like it's filling fast, you can also try Riccione

smilo006 10-Dec-2009 18:46

Thanls for the info. The first 3 or 4 Hotels on that list are all full for those dates, amazing. Mind you i guess the tour operators will have already booked 2010 by now.

gordonparker 11-Dec-2009 09:57

Holidays for the Italians do not start till later- August- I am sure availability will become available, it's never been a problem in the past as there are so many.

Perhaps they are just trying to bump up advance bookings

Ray 08-Mar-2010 20:22

Time marches on. Am I going to have to get me Italian Dictionary out and order a ticket for this on the WDW site or is the club and/or DUK going to sort something out.

€40 for DOC members.

Ray.

gordonparker 09-Mar-2010 10:48

Are not we a DDOC club therefore entitled to the same deal ???

Also they are now charging 10€ entry to the museum unless you are a DDOC member

Ray 11-Mar-2010 13:02

How do they know you are Desmo owners club?

DSC still isn't back on Ducati.com

Other Ducati clubs are drawing in new members on the strength of the discount for WDW. DSC doesn't exist on Ducati.com

I'm led to believe someone "official" from a DOC club has to verify you to get the discount?

Learning Italian is more of a problem to fill the order form in is more a problem for me though:lol:

Ray

gordonparker 11-Mar-2010 14:26

The discount on DOC more than pays for a years membership:lol:

Tickets via Martin or Frank the membership sec

Ray 12-Mar-2010 12:37

DSC certainly isn't on the list of UK clubs if you look at the DOC registration form, only DOCGB, UKMOC and SDC.

I'd be very interested to know if any DSC member has managed to get the cheap WDW tickets quoting DSC as their club.

Ray.

gordonparker 16-Mar-2010 10:33

Hi Ray, you are correct DSC does not come up as an option under UK clubs, therfore impossible to obtain the discount as a DSC member:mad:

I was informed last year that this had been resolved by the club sec:confused:

Ray 17-Mar-2010 12:46

We can't get our DSC 2010 welcome pack or Moto GP/WSBK stand tickets either.

Ray

Ray 08-May-2010 23:22

WDW ticket sorted, accomodation booked..............not long now.

Ray

gordonparker 24-May-2010 11:20

Looks like your the only one going from here Ray, wish I could be with you but lack of funds and outstanding debts  do not allow:mad:

You have a great time, maybe next time:)

MLC Racing 25-May-2010 09:03

Can the WDW welcome packs be had at a discounted price through the DSC?

gordonparker 25-May-2010 09:54

Hi , dont think so, best bet is Martyn at the DOC:lol:

Ray 25-May-2010 13:11

I think the deadline for el cheapo WDW tickets has passed. You get a WDW pack when you pick up your pre odered tickets unless they have changed the way they do things since last time I went to WDW

Or do you mean the DDOC welcome packs that you get FOC via an affiliated club.

Ray

By the way guys we ARE an affiliated club-just Ducati haven't updated their website-I will get Chris to chase them.

John

Ray 26-May-2010 13:55

Monty,

Thanks for confirming. I know CB said he was onto sorting out the affiliation but the DSC didn't appear as an option in the drop downs, club finder etc when ordering welcome packs and the like.

Ray.

sevenfoureight 29-May-2010 20:02

Does that mean I paid full price for my WDW passes when I didnt need to? - no worries, I'd still be going if it was twice the price - does anyone know exactly where Frankie Chilis beach bar is? - cos its a must visit for me while I'm there!

gordonparker 29-May-2010 23:04

A bit late to get somthing for ones membership fee, cant quite see what we do get these days unless you are in DD;)

No Pronto, no BMF, no give aways, no meetings, no AGM, no accounts, lots of other no's including no replies from the MT to mails you send them:rolleyes:
