Front Brake Caliper Needed for Class B Bike

Hi Guys & Girls,

Have entered into Castle coombe but my front brake caliper is completely knackered, does anybody have one or know where we can get a hold of one.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Erm, hmmm, Erm,

can you tell I'm quite new to all this, where exactly do I measure ?

Steve

The mounting bolt centres will be either 65mm or 40mm spacing.

ah ha,

That would be 40mm.

Thanks Ghost, great racing with you at Cadwell, you wouldn't give in around Charlies 2, Mansfield or into the bus stop, thought it was graet you going down the inside of the guy into the bus stop with me going round the outside, I really enjoyed it. I was the naughtly schoolboy wearing the wrong trousers ... I mean tyres, I will be enjoying the pleasues of new spangly correct rubber at CC.

Ah a certain Mr Owen, those tyres stood out like a 60 Watt light bulb. :)
I have never been to Castle in my life so should be interesting. :D

I have a spare 40mm caliper. I live in Coventry away this weekend up L/pool way, or can bring Fri evening to the Castle.

Try Mr Alex Vespa of this parish, I know he's upgrading to a 65mm mounting fork set that I was selling. So he should have a 40mm set going spare if he has changed?

I've got a pair too, with Ferodo CP911* pads if I iirc. I'm near Aylesbury - where are you?

Mods - why isn't the location field mandatory? it would make aswering calls for help a whole lot easier, and thereby make this feel a lot more like a club.

seicento 14-Aug-2009 17:59

that's because he lit them up, the regular encumbent could only manage a 15 watt display!!

Hi Ghost,

And I just thought you were all looking at my shiny bike !!!

It would be very very much appreciated if you could bring it with you to CC, I'll also be down there Friday night so if you could bring it with you that would be great.

I rode at CC last year in with the KTM's, the circuit is a blast and quite easy to learn, the first corner is fantastic, pushing the bike to the left whilst you move over to the right before tipping it in, and all you can see is spectators in front of you !!!

Will catch up for a beer on Friday.

Thank you very much again,

Steve

Steve, I only have the one 40mm caliper. I only use a single disc. But that doesn't count for much. :)

748 20-Aug-2009 12:43

Hi Ghost,

Sorry I think I typed incorrectly. I run a single disc ( front left ) so that 40mm one would be great if you still have it.

Thanks,

Steve
