Hmmmm.... didn't know about the Neukirchner move to Ten Kate, is he still badly injured? but what about the second Kawasaki ride? - Shakey??? - Tom Sykes? Camier to Aprilia? |
And Kagayma back to BSB WORX Suzuki I to wonder who will get the second Aprila seat, there are a few out of work MotoGP riders that may be eyeing it up |
There may be a second Aprilia team with two riders too. Rumour has it Shakey and Camier. I thought Vermuelen would end up as Biaggi's teammate but went to Kawasaki. I think Broc Parkes will get the second Kawasaki seat too. I don't know who'll get the second factory Aprilia seat next to Biaggi. Maybe Sykes? What about Hopper? |
Shakey on the second Aprilia would be very exciting, IMO |
anybody else of the mind that in this Country we are doing something very wrong as none of our riders have made it in Moto GP? The only one that looks to be able to get there is Bradley at the moment. All that try come out and then end up in SBK or BSB. Might be wrong but I think the trouble is that the earnings are too good in BSB so the riders aim for that rather than do the years and learn the ropes through 125 and 250 GP. The hope was that MotoGP going 4-stroke would allow a step across from SBK but none of the riders have been able to consistently compete with the front few who all come out of 2 stroke game. |

Seems to work OK for a few of the Yanks Edwards made the step across and now Spies will be giving it a go As Casey Stoner did a fair bit of racing in this country so does that show that Uk racing does have the potential to get riders into Moto GP And at least with a fair few Brits getting into WSBk at least we get to support them race twice in a day |
Quote:
but does it really work for them? Colin Edwards was a class act in SBK but in MotoGP is (dare I say it) second division, - his number 5 suits him well! The boys at the top in the Premiership are Rossi, Stoner, Lorenzo and Pedrosa. And the one thing they have in common is racing 125/250's on the Grand Prix circuits. Ben Spies might be something different, - I hope he is, - but then that hope was the same of Vermullen, Hayden, Haga, Hodgson, Byrne, Toseland etc, and again those guys were just not able to consistently run with the top end of the field. |

With times like that it makes you wonder why Yamaha were daft enough to take on a lacklustre Toseland rather than give an on form Camier a go. |
Camier was a bit more familiar with the track, bike and tyres than Toseland considering he had just done a full race weekend on the Aprilia I see Graeme Gowland is riding in the last two rounds of the Spanish Moto2 championships for the FTR MOTO team aftyer testing their M209 at Albacete last week Moto2 Update: Pasini, Elias, Nieto, Simon Get Rides http://www.motomatters.com/news/2009..._simon_ge.html Hope Harris have their Moto2 bike at the NEC http://www.roadracerx.com/news/harri...ready-to-roll/ |
We'll have to see how much commitment Toseland can be bothered to give this year. When he digs deep he is good but I sometimes think he's just there for the money. He'll see it as a backward step dropping to WSB & be looking to spit his dummy out whereas Camier would be seeing it as an opportunity of a life time. |

As you say we will have to wait and see, I'm sure he would rather go out at the top of WSB rather than be remembered as another of those that didn't make the grade in Moto GP What ever happens WSB looks a sthough its going to have another great season next year and I'm also looking forward to the new Moto2 class in GPS. Not sure where BSB will be as many of the top riders have now moved to the world scene, but even so it could still offer closer racing than this year. |

So Aprilia still haven't made there mind up on Camier yet? If he's not careful all the rides will have gone & he will have nothing. A bit like Shakey last year. It's a shame they keep hanging on to older riders rather than giving all the younger ones a chance - it worked in MotoGP. Why have you put Toseland above Crutchlow when Cal is the No.1 Yamaha rider? |

Not me thats how Crash.net had them listed |

Crashnet must know something we don't. Maybe Toseland is finally going to pull his finger out & do something |
Who Knows, its only a list Is Camier holding out for the Aprilia ride or is his future in GP2 I see Linfoot has joined Motorpoint Yamaha alongside Hodgson |
I don't suppose it matters whether it's WSBK or Moto2 all that really matters is that he gets a good factory ride because anything else makes you look an also ran. |
I hope Rob Mac has found a bag of ££££££ somewhere and a container full of bits from Italy. Much as I like to support the underdog in BSB, £££££ and/or Factory support is needed in BSB. IMHO Dan Linfoot is stepping up a bit too soon, I hope I'm wrong. Ray. |
Looks like Yoshimura Suzuki are quitting the other series they run in so they can compete in several of the world superbike rounds, possibly with Kagayama as one of the riders when there is no conflict of dates with BSB |
