998R original fairing what do you think they are worth. Front, sides and tail section? |
Don´t know, but I want the left side if you have it ;) |
Brand new unfitted or used? I sold a pretty mint used bare seat unit/tail section about a year or so ago for £450. The front section/nose unit is standard issue ducati. The side panels were £700 plus a side last time I bought some new about four years ago IIRC. Gawd knows how much Ducati want for them now if they list them at all. Genuine bodywork occasionally pops up on e-bay or in the classifieds on legion of Ducati sites. Ray. |
i remember when all that could be bought as a set on offer for £890!!!!!!!! to clarify, in 2003 Ducati sold these as a set for the above money...... |
Yeah andyb, my mate sold a complete set incl. tail unit and seat for just under 1000 Euros last year. |
For 1000 Euros you should have had the lot. You'd pay that for just one new side panel at a dealer I reckon. I need to have a look in the loft. I might have a brand new unfitted left hand side panel up there. Ray. |

Ray, did you sell it at the DSC AGM a couple of years ago, if so it was me you sold it to and it looks great on my 998s. |
Yep, that was the one. There was a pair of secondhand genuine 998r panels on ebay recently, they went for about £500, a bargain. Ray. |
This time of the year You'd be doing well to get them for about £1200 assuming they were mint. Difficult lot to price really. The above is absed on my experience. |
Hi Guys, compliments of the season. I couldn't help notice the subject of this topic, what with me having sent my 998 sliding up the road on its side yesterday (what a ****!). I don't suppose any of you kind gents has either a left hand side common or garden 998Bip fairing (no side vents) or a 916 series nosecone in good to reasonable condition blocking up your shed? Red would be nice. Sorry Smilo, I can't afford your lovely carbon R kit - I would have thought they would fetch well over a grand for the lot. Cheers, Spin |
Sorry not got any panels for your bike. It might be worth checking the prices for new out before launching in with used. You might get a deal on something they have in stock, sometimes they get lumbered with stuff people order but don't collect or occasionally replace panels on bikes that are still usable or repairable for little cost. If you do need to buy new at a dealer it's worth considering a discount might be available to club members. There's always the dreaded fleabay, occasionally it does come up trumps. Ray. |
Many thanks for your suggestions Ray. Local dealer (in Jersey) has nothing. I will try a few of the UK dealers (JHP, Moto Rapido, Pro Twins etc). Spin |
