Revised 2010 New Era dates list

Been on New Era site and saw this pile of 5h1te as preliminary dates for next season:-

Mallory - Sunday 21st March
Cadwell Park - W/end 17th + 18th April
Anglesey - W/end 8th + 9th May
Mallory - Monday 31st May
Snetterton - W/end 17th + 18th July
Pembrey - W/end 21st + 22nd August
Castle Combe - Saturday 11th September
Cadwell Park - W/end 2nd + 3rd October
plus possible Donington / Silverstone to add

Why 2 Cadwells and Mallorys but no Oulton Park????????

These dates are utter rubbish for me personally, they're gonna cost me loads of holidays and numerous rows plus there's no way I can do the 3 x 1 day events plus for Snett and Pembrey I'm relying on my mate giving up his booked days off. Is it worth me entering next year???????

What was wrong with the last set of dates and how many more changes will they make????

I really hope I've made a mistake looking at the site, anyone else's thoughts!

Oh plus the Plum Pudding on Boxing day at Mallory AGAIN.

Scott,

I was actually at New Era yesterday and have agreed the provisional calendar for DD in 2010. This will go up later over the weekend.

There is still one round to be confirmed next week and everything is subject to Bernie's negotiations with Silverstone over the F1. This I think is due to be resolved within the next 7 days.

Any dates aren't going to suit everybody, but we are still working on trying to have one round per month. I also dont see why you would need to be wasting holiday, the Championship rounds should all be on one day (normally Sunday), so I cant see that you need any Fridays.

I understand that there wont be any racing at Donnington next year, this has put more pressure on the other tracks for available time.

Chris

2x Mallorys :D

No Oulton. Very disappointing.

I think a lot of it is down to cost, with Oulton & Brands being the 2 most expensive circuits to hire in the country. No problem when the club hireing the circuit has full grids and a large program, but in times like these with small grids etc, you cut out the expensive ones and add the cheaper ones Mallory etc.

At 18 miles away Mallory suits me fine. :D

Good point Chris but couldn't these two circuits help by reducing prices a bit in this current recession? just a thought.

Chris,

Thanks for the work you put in it's greatly appreciated and I understand that it's impossible to cater for everyone. As I said it's only a personal problem getting to meets because I work continental shifts and it's a lottery if / when I need to book holidays to make them. It just worked out that the latest New Era schedule doubled my hol requirement from the one on the info thread.

Hope the confirmed schedule can go on this weekend, with Oulton on it too as this is my closest track and will result in much ticket scrounging. :D

tbh I dont get the its miles away issue, as for me everywhere is miles away!! closet tracks are castle combe couple hours, as is brands and probably silverstone at just under 3

still waiting to decide my plans for next year...miss out mallory tho I think!! and shame no brands

ChrisBushell 05-Dec-2009 16:32

Paul,

You will have to wait for the final version of the calendar, one of your wishes may come true!

New Era ammended their provisional Calendar on 18th November

2nd post in I pointed out that the initial provisional calendar had been updated and in the post below that I gave the revised provisional Calendar, that was on November the 30th

There will probably be a couple more changes yet, especially where Silverstone is concerned

I do wonder what Motorsport Vison charge to hire their circuits, especially the ones with Garages and Electric outlets in the paddock

Just hope it's decided sooner rather than later, I've used up all my holidays trying to cover as many weekends and Friday nights as I can, need to cancel some or I'll be working Xmas day next year!

Cranker V2 05-Dec-2009 18:04

With no oulton park, it is real kick in the b*lls. Mallory x 2, effing joke. I would swap 10 mallory's for 1 oulton. So grids are small? They will be even smaller next year, recession or not, by no oulton and x 2 asda carpark, sorry I meant mallory. What a shame

You may not like Mallory, but it is one of the best circuits to set up your bike on.

Just to put something in the melting pot, and just to be a devil, how about Knockhill. 5 miles from mine, about 500 for the nearest of you!!!!!!

A virtually guaranteed wet race as well.

Gbyte666 06-Dec-2009 16:08

Personaly I'd love to do Knockhill the one time just for the Done it T-Shirt.

steve41 06-Dec-2009 16:17

Craig,
Make sure it's a water proof one!!!!!

To be fair the last couple of years as been lucky, the only weekends where it stopped raining were when the meetings were on.

Food for thought for the future, or enter the MiniTwins race there, plan to try a few this year instead of the 400

Steve

NO22ER 21-Jan-2010 19:25

Mallory is for people who don't like real tracks. lol

skidlids 21-Jan-2010 19:46

Must be why Hizzy and the old Trout weren't enjoying themselves on the Cadburys Boost bikes while testing back in March 1998.
Nah they were enjoying it, probably first time on the bikes in months

Give me Thruxton any day :)
Trouble is Thruxton was only once a year and Mallory 3 times plus a few Wednesday afternoons

ells 28-Jan-2010 07:29

Popped over to the New Era site yesterday and noticed that they are now showing the calendar as confirmed.

Does this mean ours will be out shortly?

Mark
PS dont know why I am in such a rush it wont make the races happen earlier

skidlids 28-Jan-2010 08:08

I had my new Era membership card through yesterday which just like my previous 12 have the race dates on them,
I cant recall over those 12 seasons the actual race dated ever differing from what was on the cards.

As such I should think the majority of the Desmo Due dates can now be confirmed although a round to replace the loss of Angelsey is still being considered.

badgerpilot 28-Jan-2010 09:16

Be lovely to have a race less than 3hrs drive away, is there no-other dates available for Angelsea we could do?
Why did it get pulled?

Angelsey, Cadwell, Oulton, Snetterton & Pembrey are all over 3hrs and Donington was just under 3hrs for me.

As for why Angelsey got pulled thats a question for the New Era officials
