No bookings via affiliated clubs then?

One of the reasons for joining an affiliated club is to get a route into stuff like this. Owners of older bikes, i.e. non current models often don't go near an official dealer from one year to the next.

Yes I know there's nowt to stop anyone booking via a dealer but DUK must be pretty confident of filling this without making use of the clubs network.

Well I just booked Ben & myself on through Pro Twins this morning. It looks like there are only about 30 places per dealer going to be on offer - so get in quick.

Ray,

Per my post above with 3 x 70 places on the GP circuit that is not a lot when you look at the number of dealers. It is important the Clubs tell their members and they get booked in ASAP through their local dealer.

Mine has started a 1st come 1st served list pending the confirmation of the cost.

Jasper 23-Dec-2010 20:08

Will try and book tomorrow,BUT surely affiliated clubs should have had the priority before non members? Here would be another reason for joining a club.

chris.p 23-Dec-2010 23:17

Places booked with Italia in Lincoln.

Unfortunatly, I think DUK's loyalty lie's with the dealers rather than the clubs, they are afterall commercial partners.

It is a DUK event and places are sold through the dealers.

There WILL be extras for club members though!

skidlids 24-Dec-2010 13:34

Can't see me booking this as already planning a couple of outings for the 998R on the Silverstone Arena circuit with a few Non Ducati owning mates.
Although that doesn't mean I'm not going to be there, a lot will depend on what i'm doing in the way of work at the time

MJS 24-Dec-2010 15:39

Our second sproglet is due the following weekend - not sure how many brownie points I'll need to bank to get a 2-day pass for the weekend before

bradders 24-Dec-2010 22:49

Oh well that's the end of the dsc trackday then.

Shame.

PeteB 24-Dec-2010 23:09

But we can make it the DSC trackday:) lots of familiar faces, good craic what more do you want?:D

bradders 25-Dec-2010 00:07

Not meant to sound negative btw. Sure most I'd go with will be there anyway.

skidlids 25-Dec-2010 10:01

Be Nice if its like the Dutch clubs Assen trackday, trade stalls, club stands, Autojumble etc
A Trackday combined with the Popham Megameet sounds ideal to me :)

Nattyboy 08-Jan-2011 00:44

How much is a ticket ?

Price is not yet known, but you need to book via a Ducati dealer.

bradders 08-Jan-2011 17:41

as Skids, I'm probably going along for the craic but wont be riding. Gaz and Phil got the bug at Cadwell last year so hope to be watching and helping them instead...well taking the **** anyway!!

Bionicle 09-Jan-2011 10:51

Ride Paul, you know you want too :)

Really Looking forward. I've booked up with Snell.

Can't wait!

Ray 13-Jan-2011 13:18

So the idea is we book via a dealer with no final price known?

is this a new blank cheque pricing model DUK are trying out:lol:

Ray.

pbrown 13-Jan-2011 22:38

I think it goes a bit like this Ray, 'If you can afford a Duke, you can afford the weekend'.

Anyone know when we're likely to get more details?

As soon as we get anything, it will get posted up.

Ducati UK are keeping us informed, so we'll know as soon as they make an announcement.

Ray 14-Jan-2011 12:37

Ducati Coventry have the price for the weekend as £499 on their website.

That'll keep the riff raff with old bikes like me away:D

Ray.

Gbyte666 14-Jan-2011 12:59

OMG

I have just had a quick read of the blurb on jhp site.....

"Held over a Saturday and Sunday, day one offers classroom and on track tuition on the National and Southern Circuits in preparation for day two on the full MotoGP circuit."

so a bit like CSS on day one, but no more details other than pit lane support from the jhp crew.

I should imagine there are cheaper packages out there, time will tell.

Info on the event is slow coming through though, I would be tempted to do one day on track but it seems like DUK are keeping it underwraps so much I will have to buy a brand new multipoodle to get a chance on track..........

Gbyte666 14-Jan-2011 15:04

Also from reading the JHP site I'm wonderig if at all you will be allowed to only book day two

Very strange as DUK havent released any price for it yet, that I know for sure!!

Bionicle 14-Jan-2011 16:50

As tickets need to be purchased through dealers maybe some dealers are putting their own price on, it says JHP will have help in pit lane maybe thats for their customers who book through them so they put a price on the ticket that includes that help.... i cant see DUK overpricing the event to the tune of £500 quid a ticket you can nearly get 3 silverstone track days for that price

WeeJohnyB 14-Jan-2011 18:30

or 5, count them, 5 days at Cadwell with FREE instruction, suspension set up, photos, video, tyres and a relaxed friendly atmosphere - you could use your DSC discount for fuel, food, booze or an evening session. Or you could go to Le Mans or Magny Cours for a couple of days - know what I would do.

I appreciate Silverstone with knobs on is a pull for some people (not that fond of the track myself, much prefer many others), but 500 notes??? You could do 2 or 3 days on track with sole one to one instruction from a top instructor all day all sessions tailored to your specific needs and desires with 'classroom' sessions inbetween (one to one) and if you want, video coverage all day.

Ducati dealerships have glass doors so they can see you coming!

And me too, even though I have a new,ish bike.

Not quite in the spirit of the DSC track attack but I'm sure it will be of interest to all the new Duke riders.

phil burke 04-Feb-2011 15:46

I,ve heard it,s £500 for the 2 days & day 1 is not the full circuit. For £500 you could book 3 days on full circuit with any of the trackday organisers. Seems v. expensive

Jasper 04-Feb-2011 18:45

I certainly won't be riding at that price.

antonye 04-Feb-2011 19:28

Have spoken to Debbie at DUK today while at the ExCeL show and they do not have prices yet, so I expect the prices at the dealers are speculative.

Ray 21-Feb-2011 12:44

Ducati coventry were only £4 out with their price.

Ray.

antonye 21-Feb-2011 13:35

Official details came through from DUK late last night, and I've posted them up here: http://www.ducatisportingclub.com/sh...d.php?p=630570
