Quote:
ha ha great minds and all that...I've just worked it out roughly based on the standings Skids did post Brands and results from Hottrax site, I'm 7th :D |
nice one mate, hopefully we will do more battle this year although we did meet briefley at cadwell, before the by pass op,i could do you on the straight and you murdered me in the fast corners ,should be fun.btw i just messaged craig,me and my son are just sorting photos hopefully shoulld have some with your knee down (on the bike !!!)i will let you know asap |

 look forward to it :D |
![]() Think this is about right, hope it helps! 'Total' is the overall points at the moment and 'Best' is the points with the two lowest deducted. I was too sleepy to get the spreadsheet to determine the lowest and deduct them so I did that bit by hand and so it might be wrong. Give us a shout if it is and I will change it. |
That looks fine to me hugh :D i think we should call it a day now while im wining  |

Alan P should be 29 for best and you have his number wrong he is 21. |
Yes sir, quite right sir. Ive changed it here and above. ![]() |
Cheers for that Hugh..... I am actually surprised to see I'm still joint 5th without dropping rounds. Tonio, any chance of using this to update the results site? (here normally, for those new to the series: http://www.desmodue.co.uk/ ). Someone will have to sort out the Class A Results for you though. |

Really?? With a win and a second ;) |
Anyone with a few decent results in the top 6 in theory should be ahead of me. I expected to be 7th+. Still, there is a long way to go yet! |
Quote:
As we all must drop a set of result you are still in joint 1st with Phil and Kev so its all good for you! I am all good with 1st & 3rd, I would have preferred to have that 2nd at Mallory and be up there with you but Neil had other thoughts on the matter and dispatched me nicely just before the finish line. Have to admit that I now know what it must have felt like when I snuck by you at Brands! |
Quote:
c'mon, not really - look rate the rate the points drop off after the first 2.... ;) |
Are the numbers in brackets race numbers? If so quite few errors but nice one for doing the chart. Scott (#50) :) |
Quote:
Taking no results from anyone above me: If phil had even 1 point from Brands and you had Jimbos 3rd from Brands then I would be 7th. Simples! |
Quote:
;) :D if only :burn: |
Quote:
Just to be girlie about it I think it should be I that had Jimbos 3rd after his jump start, but he was saved by the pace of Neal A to end the race and stop it going to me getting a final lap time instead of + 1 lap. Might have to bring that up at the end of the season if I am need of 3 points :D |
Quote:
I copied Jolleys list on a previous post and I think these numbers were actually points not race numbers. I have deleted them all now because I cant be bothered to change everyones. :frog: |

lucky him!! Not only did I get penalised by being god knows what ont the 1st corner meaning I spent 2 laps trying to get the spots back after my jump - stop - wheelie - go start to race 2 part 2 but then lost a spot wth a 10sec penmalty by about half a sec...lesson learned: if I jump again just keep it pinned!!! |
.... or don't jump start?... |
Quote:
a little like tripping in the street...its wasnt intentional hence I stopped-----not if it happens again!! |
Think the length of time the lights were on at Mallory caught a few guys out. In race 1 I was so far back on the grid I could barely see them! :) |
Agreed there Hugh no consistency, which is how it should be, or we will all pre-empt the off but they were 3.5 secs I reckon. |
Quote:
seemed for ever, but I accept its only my own fault |
hee hee in race 1 i was still looking where the lights were when we were off!! he always used to point at them!,in race 2 i was watcing paul and bradders as i dropped the clutch ,thinking oh oh dont stop now, but it was funny watching the chain reaction . |

Someone said Tonio wasn't doing it this year I'll update my spreadsheet when I have time, unlike now where I have been struggling for the past few hours to try and undo the bottom shock bolt on my 2009 Monster 1100, just about given up as I can't get it to budge and have so far trashed two 8mm Hex Keys. When will Ducati ever learn to use copper slip, been putting up with this sort of crap for years. And when I do the results It will be the best 14 out of 16 to count, so no dropping two results until the final round as thats the only time it really matters. eg Ron is 29 points off the lead with no room for error |
Quote:
I must have had a few too many beers in the sun cause I don't get this! As we move forward round by round isn't the only thing that's important is your results less the bottom 2? Total points mean nothing really IMHO? |
Quote:
Not really Hugh As there are to be 16 point scoring races With 14 races are to count towards your total score whats the point of only counting two at the moment, when the total points after all 16 rounds are added up and the worse two results for each rider dropped will result in the Championship going to the rider with the Highest total points, how you can say Total Points mean nothing baffles me. For Ron and Phil they will obviously drop two non scoring races which they already have on their score sheet and others may do so later in the season. But you wouldn't really expect people to be dropping points from 3rd and 4th places. If you do you had better think about handing them the championship now as that would mean they are going to spend the rest of the season finishing on the podium |
Quote:
Sounds like you are actually agreeing with me because 'total points' would have included the two results you dropped. Also saying by looking at the points in this way I am handing people the season is rubbish, in reality it's the opposite. I am currently in 2nd with total points but if I look at total less worst 2 then I am 4th! If anything this made me more focussed! |
Total points, dropped scores...it's all valuable info and should ALL be considered if you're going to win a championship. What I figure Kev means is that when the total points are totted up at the end of the year, the person that has been most consistent will win. It's that simple. If you can get your ass on the podium every race then you stand a damn good chance of being champ. 2 dropped scores is VERY costly (I know this) and you have to pray that there are enough players to spread the points out or that if you're in a battle with just one other rider that they have a nightmare at a future event. |
seems simple to me.... why drop any points now, even theorectically, unless they are a zero; there are 12 more races and may be a few zeros yet...so total works best right now...3/4 way thru the season be worth looking then if only to make sur the bike makes it round if you have a shot at the title |
Everyone can look at it how they want. Ultimately though, the final points are the only ones that matter, and they involve dropping 2 results. Hence I will be looking at it that way, especially as I have a double non-points round... so I will never have a worse round to drop. Hopefully in a few rounds it won't matter when I am leading everyone with my 2 rounds dropped even when compared with their non-dropped points ;) |
Nice worrk on the chart, my results from Mallory where 8th and 9th. Just a small correction for me there. Mike T |
Quote:
Or so you thought Mike But as I can tell from your second email you may have had a re-think or a re-check of the results sheets |
Never mind this. How about updating my Mallory lap record? Already done on Wikipidia. :D |
Quote:
The print out from the track shows 9th and 9th? Am I missing something? |
Quote:
maybe Mike had the first issue ones, which had me 4th as Neil was not classified |
Bradders is right and I am a bonehead........... Role on Anglesey. Baaaarr :o |
Quote:
After watching the corner speed you carried at edwinas on friday i'm not surprised you broke the lap record :) (I said you would) ;) I hear you broke a few other things in the process...............................:o |
