Calne Bike Day this Saturday

Anyone up for this?

Dementor 21-Jul-2011 21:47

Will be at Loomies at 9:00 > McDonalds Newbury at 10:00, so Craig can have a lie in

skidlids 21-Jul-2011 22:55

What weather have you booked as I'm getting fed up of these showers we keep having.
Parking will probably be a bit more limited on a Saturday in Newbury, may have to park up by the clock tower

Gbyte666 21-Jul-2011 23:17

Nice One Roy, I like me lay-in.
I'll check on the hight street tomorrow as Wed oppisite Mc D's a site fork lift loaded up with roof tiles tipped over killing the fork lift driver and spilling tiles all over. Obviously they closed off the high street and last I looked oppisite and by Mc D's it was all closed off except for a small bit for pedestrians to pass.

This is where we normally park, so might have to park at the clock tower. Plenty room there

Clint.

bradders 22-Jul-2011 10:26

you lucky peolpe :(

have a great day - looks like a good event (which is free :D ) and the ride there is a nice route...and less busy on a Sat! I would just say it is a major getaway weekend, so all main A roads likley be busier than normal...

I May well be coming down to meet up at Newbury but not sure about the other Oxon/Berks crew, spoke to Senna yesterday and he has other plans for Saturday

Got my brother in law and the kids coming down from Scotland on Saturday for a few days so will spend some time with them on Sunday, so Saturday's choices are ride the 170 miles to Cadwell and back or join you for the ride to Calne

Can't afford trackdays at the moment, can only just about afford to race and making the next 3 rounds is going to be tight on the race budget, so a nice sunny rideout will be most welcome

James providing the weather is playing ball I'll be heading direct for Newbury and the 10 O'Clock meeting
and if the weather is not playing ball I may look for a dry period and head over to the Hein Gericke open day and see if I can get the 1100 Monster a free Dyno run

Thanks indeed Roy, see you there. Best regards James.

The Clock tower makes for a good Landmark
A few years ago J & S accessories were a few doors up, shame they pulled out of Newbury

James I'm heading fairly direct to Newbury probably using a fair bit of the A34 just turning off occasionally and then rejoining it

OK Kev, if you don't want to meet up, I guess I'll see you there.

Best regards,

James

Great day out with some good mates in the way of Roy, Clint, Craig, Kim and James, keeping up with two 996s a 848 and a 1198SP wasn't easy on a 1100 Monster so big up for Clint for maintaining a great pace on his 750SSie

Nice to see the Monster owners club having a stand in the middle of Calne, but defo more of a day for riding the bikes than having them parked up

Dementor 23-Jul-2011 23:16

Great to see you Kev. Brilliant ride and thanks to Craig for showing us some great roads. Won't bother with the event next year but def up for the ride. And yep Clint did well on the 750 ;)

clint 24-Jul-2011 09:34

The flux capacitor was doing overtime on the 750 yesterday.

Great to see everyone yesterday. Really enjoyed the ride and company.
We went some great roads.
Nice too see a Calne town taken over by bikes.

Clint.

Excellent day out!

Thanks indeed to Kim, Roy, Clint, Kev and Craig, for an excellent ride out. Roads were great, and the sun was shining.

A good day to be out on the bike with friends.

Best regards,

James
